The in memoriam just acknowledged that the audience has played Most Popular Dead Person for years. Not sure why it's ever been impossible for them to just say "please respectfully hold all applause until the end," but god forbid someone lesser known be actually seen as noteworthy or if value at these wankfests.

Exactly. May not care what she does in front of a mic but man, what a class act

Now playing

Besides, he can see where Will was coming from:

*waves magic wand*

She really was a pro and helped Liza keep her dignity. I guess working with Tony Bennett has given her a lot of practice at handling someone like that in front of a crowd.

Sad that we’re spending more time picking sides between Will Smith and Chris Rock, rather than talking about Lady Gaga’s classy professionalism.

Forget it Jake. It’s Twitter.

I really love the people who are saying that alopecia counts as a disability so this joke was some kind of hate crime.

The Snyderbros are always vote-bombing internet polls. They have no life.

Ellis fans loved her so much that they ripped her to shreds and hounded her off the internet when she didn’t live up to their progressive ideals and said insensitive, racists things like... checks notes... American corporation Disney’s Raya the Last Dragon was mediocre.

Encanto is a by-the-numbers animated flick that looks pretty and takes zero risks. I’d have much rather the award went to Mitchells, a film I didn’t like but did some interesting things that Encanto never bothered to attempt.

I’d have loved Luca to win, since that film was both gorgeous and really resonated with me,

With Bayhem, Mick B knows what he’s doing. You’re right; I don’t think Michael Bay genuinely, sincerely, honestly truly thinks he’s some grand artiste. Accuse him of many things, but you can’t call him pretentious.

It’s probably less about what Chris said and more about how she reacted to it, if that makes any sense.

Should have been The Mitchells!

And posh frocks. The only reason I take any notice of the proceedings at all.

There are far too many EGOT winners to consider it an impressive achievement. An even greater achievement would be having exactly two People’s Choice Awards, two Oscars, and two Emmys. We can call them POOPEE winners.

Wife?

I guess what I’m wary of is the season getting reviewed with the presupposition that it is, in fact, some of the best television humans are capable of, and will be reviewed that way almost regardless of what it does. Maybe that won’t be the case.

I like the show overall, and I thought both episodes were decent, but I hope we can skip past the LOUIE phase of “every single choice the show makes is the right one because the show made it, and anyone who finds fault with it is part of the problem.”

So do we get to actually hear the jokes?
