To answer your last question: Yes. In fact, we should over compensate for it. Moses Ingram got the heaps of critical praise we usually see reserved for awards contenders. Years from now, if people look back on Obi-Wan reviews without the social context, it will appear ridiculous.

Lol, there’s singing in many Pinocchio adaptations, tho. But fwiw, in this movie it gets worse. The praise del Toro’s Pinocchio is getting really feels like director bias to me. The songs are not good, it completely omits Pleasure Island and the donkey transformations (I’d argue the whole point of the moral lessons),

Agreed with everything you said. The finale was indeed awful, but this was not the reason why.

2003's Identity is a wild a pick

I’m an 80s kid, and I never heard of Kate Bush. I initially thought she was a made up artist created for the show, lol (And what a cool original song Stranger Things wrote!) It’s been amusing- and delightful- to know this is a real person enjoying a resurgence.

So the plaintiffs got their $3.99 back?

So, I skipped both Halloween and Halloween Kills and went straight into Halloween Ends completely new. I was into it! But I don’t fault any of the criticisms from long-time fans. Even for me it felt “off” from what should have been expected.

The other great thing about Justin Long just being a civilian in Die Hard 4, is we aren’t watching McClaine fumble through trying to parent him, and the contrived baggage of these kinds of relationships, that make the trope so annoying a lot of the time.

I’m not that big on Star Trek and have only casually watched the new ones, so I can’t speak to the older movies. I think Maverick works similarly to Creed, by making the kid a supporting character’s son, rather than the main character’s son.

Our first impression of Kylo Ren is as temper-tantrum Darth Vader wannabe. Yea, I file him under “the worst.”

Yes, you’re right!

“Growing like a weed.” lol. It’s almost as if shooting a movie for 4 fuckin years rather than the usual few months, are two different things, James.

I’ve had a long-standing bias about movie sequels introducing the main characters’ kids. Going back at least as far as Godfather 3, I’ve found this to be a poor practice. They’re always the worst.

I don’t follow Broadway as much as I’d probably like to. But I’m used to hearing about these kinds of runs going belly up. Is it normal for a show that was doing poorly to turn itself around like this? Congratulations to all.

As much I would have loved LOST to give us some holiday themed episodes, (Valentines’ Day on the island! Halloween with Hurley!) The Constant is as close as we could get.

Now playing

It’s always going to be “So-Called Angels” from My So-Called Life. It wasn’t the first time such a grounded show got a little surreal (that would be Halloween) but here, musician Juliana Hatfield guest stars as a homeless girl who may or may not exist. Even for a drama, this was a Very Special Episode, but its too

I do think the 3+ hours is too long, and Zoe Saldana didn’t get enough to do. I also felt Pregnant Wife (Kate Winslet, you say?) seemed redundant to Neytiri, and not different enough of a character to be distinct.

I would have liked to see a Jaws or Oddjob type of henchman for Craig’s run. Some goon with a unique weapon, and/or physical attribute. They haven’t had a character like that for several Bond stints now, and I miss it.

I wonder if one of the reasons Craig’s Bond is so divisive isn’t just the quality of the movies, but the sense fans had that this is a guy who wasn’t 100% committed to the character.

As someone who likes Alien more than Aliens, it obviously won’t be the top spot for me. For a Cameron list, I’d go with a Cameron original. Something that was more of a passion project than a gig. It’s down to T2 and Titanic. Both for cultural relevance, and both for their craftmanship. And I’d argue both movies might
