Fantasia 2000 was my first ever IMAX movie, (I think the format was somewhat new at the time?) and it sure seemed like a big deal. Theater was packed, saw promotions everywhere....I’m a little surprised myself.

B- is about right for The Princess and the Frog. Needed more memorable songs, and I frankly didn’t care for the story. I have a bias against turning- characters-into-animals plots, as seen in everything from Brother Bear to Brave, to as recently as Soul. The only time I can think I liked it was for The Emperor’s New

Facts. I haven’t seen Del Toro’s yet, but it will probably be weird too. I’ve seen the Jonathan Taylor Thomas one, and the Roberto Beningni one, and the Italian one from a couple years ago, and now the live-action Disney remake. I keep watching these, not sure what to make of any of them.

Julie Dash has The Woman King, a movie as recent as a few months ago. Instant classic!

Best Dreamworks animated movie” is a conversation I don’t often see, but I think it would come down to Kung Fu Panda vs How to Train Your Dragon. Maybe Prince of Egypt (There’s probably a Shrek camp too, but come on). Hmm. I think I would lean towards Panda

S.S. Rajamouli selections make me think we’d be best friends, lol.

I’ve also got to throw a nod of respect to Apocalypto, which was one of my favorite movies that year (and 2006 was a great year). Such an exciting survival thriller. The degree of difficulty in making a film like that is pretty high. A period piece with an indigenous cast, many of whom were inexperienced, exclusively

What if I said I always found Dead Space similarly frustrating, so this comes as no surprise? (Dead Space 2, however is amazing, and improves on nearly every issue I had with DS1)

Sue me, I like these. I enjoy the debates, the pageantry, and the bragging rights of all sorts of award shows, so I’m glad gaming has something that’s pushing for that kind of status, too. It’s a fun retrospective on the year that was, the World Premieres are exciting, and it’s also nice to give the creators their

I feel like Skyrim is a massive open-world game that demands a LOT of your time. Until Dawn is a great call, and short, breezy choice-based titles like that make for decent cool down, before chomping on something big again. Tell Me Why is another decent choice for yourself. It starts a little slow, but I found playing

Such an integral part of my childhood. This one will hurt for a while. Incredibly, we’ve still never gotten a performance like this from any other Batman:

The fall of 2016 will go down in history as the dawn of a Black TV renaissance.

I’m always accusing adaptations like this for not caring, so this actually does boost my confidence a little.

Eh. This tip-toes towards victim-blaming a little. It doesn’t matter how it came across. When people admittedly understand this might be complicated for her, but choose to tell her how she should feel anyway, that’s the actual issue. When people admittedly understand that she slipped up, but choose to tear her apart

In 2010, the Federal Communications Commission passed the Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation (CALM) Act to lower the volume of commercials.

Haha, I also love this

To be fair, they could rely on the novels before. I don’t know how many 007 books were left by the time they got to Spectre, but it sure felt like they were running out of material

Props for recalling any details about Spectre at all. It’s one of the most forgettable Bond movies, imo, and I think even Quantum has more memorable scenes.

On this, the Last Day of Democracy, I had a dream that I was on the campaign trail, telling voters how good Atlanta is, and Beto O’Rourke got mad at me for not staying on topic.
