Absolutely, and whatsmore about the time jump, are other little things, like Corlys’ son being a child last week, and a grown-ass man now... It’s only been 3 years, right?

“Shire ire”
Oh, this ain’t about viewership, this is about status. The inevitable comparisons, the watercooler hype, and the incessant need for society to take sides. How soon before “Which Show is Better?” articles start popping up? They get it.
Typical Targaryens...
Nice to see them having some fun with a celebrity cameo, but this is also a universe where another pop star, Harry Styles, is now a key character. Why not break the 4th wall about that?
It may not be what Rings of Power is doing, but how Rings of Power is saying it. Most of the marketing and hype for the show has been about the cast rather than the story. House of the Dragon, by contrast (this might be a theme with me for the next couple of months) clearly marketed and hyped the story of the…
I’m a Lord of the Rings ‘normie” I guess. The movies are good, but I’m not passionate enough to rally around perceived injustices to the franchise. I’m not well-versed in these, so I just defer to the experts. If they say something does or doesn’t make sense, I try to hear them out. Am I glad the new show is doing…
It’s gotta be a “Who Shot J.R?” thing, right? Make it an arc
My counterpoint to that Fraiser remark is that The Legend of Korra, uses the same intro theme song as Avatar the Last Airbender. It’s fine.
Good point about the fast travel, which I’m slightly surprised no one has mentioned up till now (since it was such a big deal to everyone). My understanding is this series of events is more concentrated, and not as spread out, but it’s still a breeze to go from the Capitol to Dragonstone and back, I guess.
I liked this episode better than the premiere. Stronger character work and dialogue, which when done well, is a joy to listen to. Still some rough edges, though. Like the Hand going to confront Daemon, and oh yea, his dragon will roast us, so what was the plan, exactly? Also, both the king’s announcement of who he’ll…
I was so excited for Welcome to Raccoon City when I saw the trailers. It’s finally not going to be Matrix cosplay and they’ll follow the games! Unfortunately, I thought they butchered the characters (especially Leon, who was a total buffoon), and it was probably a mistake to squeeze 2 games into one storyline for as…
the series didn’t build up that word-of-mouth momentum the streamer generally likes to see
It can happen. I’d argue Henry Cavill as Geralt is the only thing The Witcher has going for it.
Those are good comparisons, though I get the sense Feige might be a little more hands-on with his properties than the other two; Or at least he gives the impression he is. Like a head coach with a winning record, some of it is luck for sure, but some of it is good instincts. Which is probably where the ‘genius’ praise…
It is a little amusing in that ‘I can’t go to the dance with you because the person I really wanted to go with finally asked me out!’ sort of way.
I liked this episode better than the first.
Fully agreed. If the MCU has gotten better at anything, it’s giving previously weak characters a second chance and more dimensions
With both hulks there’s a little bit of caricature to the face designs. In normal form, Maslany’s face is more round, and in hulk form they’ve sharpened features and elongated her head a bit. It looks like her, but an idealized version of her, frankly.
Not only was Jen drunk, but down in the dumps since no one else will hire her. In that moment, it’s clear she’s too desperate to look a gift horse in the mouth.
