As a black man I can’t help but agree with you. It’s been wonderful seeing how much love people have given Black Panther and knowing how it’s going to effect so many black kids and I think it’s well past time for other minorities to get their day in the sun.

Reading through the last few days of your posts, I can only say... “Yikes.”

I’m sure the response to the possibility of a black Superman will be totally reasonable and measured... Remind me not to go on reddit for a while.

Jordan would do a good job if those reports are true, but I would have gone with a Latino or Middle Eastern actor for Superman. I think that Superman’s story has always been the story of an immigrant who was welcomed to America by its most loving people, and who repaid that love by becoming our greatest champion. I

And it’ll be especially awkward writing Superman out of the films when the old “I have to go now, my planet needs me” excuse isn’t possible.

Cool, but like, you want to buy a battery pack or something?

Why did people hold the door open for the horse? Because they thought the hospital was working inefficiently.

Ha, you and I clearly knew very different 11 year olds. Also, the Sorting Hat does factor in your personal preferences - it’s not necessarily all that much about your truest deepest self but about how you want to be perceived. Wanting to be perceived as cunning is often an indication that you aren’t, regardless of age.

Which just shows how pissed Mike and Gus must’ve been at Walt for coming stumbling along like a horse set loose in a hospital and destroying absolutely everything they’d worked so hard to put together.

One of the things I loved about this episode is that it continues to show just how *smart* both Mike and Gus are. They both see the value in treating the Germans like employees, rather then disposables. They know the value they’ll reap in the long term outweighs the short term negatives (in this case, spending cash to

“You do what’s best for you.” It’s funny how such a harmless line can feel so melancholic and frightening in the world of this show...

If Ready Player One was a person, it would be St. Cloud

Yeah, Crabbe and Goyle really put the lie to the “Slytherin good” thing.  If the Sorting Hat was as good as it was supposed to be, it’d be like “Basic Bebop and Rocksteady level dumb thugs! I sort thee into Works at a Gas Station House!” and they’d be kicked the fuck out.  But the hat knows damn well that villains

If Slytherin were evil, WHY ALLOW THEM TO EXIST IN A SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN?

I think Rowling’s attempt at that concept was in the form of Snape, but the fact he’s the only one given any emotional depth of the Slytherins kind of muddled the point.

Couldn’t the problem be fixed by just getting rid of all of the houses and treating the students as actual human beings instead of just one note stereotypes?

I would argue that it is Hufflepuffs who are bad.

The anonymous Never-Voldemorters are the true heroes of the #Resistance.

Who hurt you?  And why aren’t they continuing to do so?

It’s so iconic that even the current DC animated series can’t help but reference it.
