lets not forget the small details that apple knows that phones and laptop/desktop computers are different. Thats why the still maintain 2 separate OSes. They're simple removing unnecessary inconsistencies to make things work as crossplatform as possible.

Well iPhones sell more than any single models. Samsung has dozens of models, most of them garbage. If you talk about OSes, how about you include all iOS devices?
