Also, the whole bit with White’s increasingly ridiculous changed forms was a homage to “Duck Amuck”. I was half expecting they’d attach a flagpole to his ass with a screwball flag but that that would probably be too on the nose.

I think the meta stuff was more of a dig on Q than you are giving it credit for. They included themselves as part of the purported “Hollywood elite” (one of my bigger laughs was their BASEketball promo shot on the bulletin board) that are being held up as this hugely powerful group that is running the world. They

it seems like another example of this collection of bloggers needing to criticize a white character if there’s a black or non-white character in close proximity (on that basis alone).

If anything, I applaud the creators saw Wanda’s story as her own all the way through. [Famous so-and-so] or Monica or someone else didn’t need to step in to save Wanda, she pulled herself back from the abyss even with the harm she did. As I said about Dr. Strange to those who clamored for an eleventh-hour assist from

Oooohhhhhh!

Honestly though, if you refuse to consume media created by people with shitty opinions, be ready to stare at a wall the rest of your life

Don’t get me wrong, Batman’s a great character, but in the last 20-30 years he’s gone from “really fun and clever and able to punch above his weight class thanks to his cunning” to “BEST AT EVERYTHING SMARTEST AND MOST POWERFUL PERSON TO EVER EXIST HE’S THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON TO EVER BE”

Okay you're just a troll.

When you make an accusation that other people are actively TRYING hard to dislike a film, especially in a post where uou make repeated mentions of this year and its politics. The flippant responses are not really helping your case.

Well, you came to a discussion forum where you admittedly acknowledge that the responses have been mostly negative, and then proceed to insult everyone by saying they’re all trying too hard to dislike this movie. Then, when people start giving you specific reasons for why they didn’t like the movie, you dismiss it

You mean by pointing out a clear example of the poor writing that a lot of people point out as a main flaw of the film? Thats not trying hard to dislike a film, it strikes me as a pretty standard takeaway.

Generally, I think folk are trying too hard to not like the movie

I don’t wish to negate your enjoyment of the film. I’m happy that you found so much to love in it. But to your specific point of “I think folk are trying too hard to not like the movie”; I really enjoyed WW1 and was dying to see the sequel. We had Xmas dinner and I made it clear to my wife and our 2 friends that at

I swear there was some drama involved with the studio and Patty but everyone is keeping shut. There’s no way everyone was happy with that film at the studio.

I’m still trying to understand how the movie can sit on the shelf for almost 2 years and no one revisited It critically and saw what a mess It was? There Is a good movie In there - they just need to carve Into It.

Wonder Woman 1984 is unique in that it’s a standalone film without the burden of all the other DCEU films weighing it down, and yet it still manages to be a muddied, difficult to understand mess.

It’s amazing how bad this film was with all the talent in the cast. A Christmas movie where the central theme is “renounce your wish?” Every wish anyone makes is cruel and selfish except the hero’s, and she sees no issue in bringing a man back to life by having him possess an innocent man’s body?

And why was Steve surprised about escalators, they’ve been around since late 1800's?

I think the “not perfect” is what makes it work, because a lot of reboots or such would view things through rose-colored glasses, and Cobra Kai lets things BE not perfect. Everyone is messy and trying what they think is their best.
