Certainly the complete polar opposite approach of the Mario movie from 30 years ago, with the cast actually getting drunk during filming.

People are talking like the Super Mario movie has to be the next Citizen Kane to be good and forget that its Mario.  It was fun, enjoyable, light popcorn faire, which is all it had to be.

It’s been over 30 years since the previous “super mario” movie. You would think that so-called film critics these days would not be as “out of touch” as the average audience goer.

Just got back from taking my son to see it. It was fun, he was delighted, and I’m a hero for a day for letting him stay up late to go see a movie on a school night. The Yoshi egg made him smile.

The special effects and costuming were great, but the writing was just abysmal. Viewers who did stick around til the end were not rewarded.

this just isnt true. house of the dragon had 10 million viewers for the first day of its premiere compared t0 25 million for rings of power. your numbers also dont point out that the house of dragon numbers were for usa, while ring of power was globally.
