There’s many documented cases of well-meaning people who joined the police with the intention of being a “good apple” and reforming from the inside, just to get transformed into another trigger-happy racist.  Or they end up dead.

Even as a very casual fan I could never forget Richie Incognito. Didn’t he, like, show up at a funereal home demanding his father’s head? Had some kind of violent outburst at a gym where he threatened the staff with death? The relentless bullying and psychological torture you mentioned? I genuinely cannot keep track…
