If she was still drunk at that point maybe she’d have actually gotten the sentence most other people would for the same crime. I teach at one of the service academies. My students are 18-22 years old and subject to rigorous fitness standards. Many of them have contracted COVID over the past year, and several are experiencing lingering symptoms—mostly cardiac-related—that may force them out of the service.
