I’m not going to read the comments for fear of spoilers, but my thoughts so far on the game are mostly that it’s impeccably well-made. I’m incredibly impressed at the nuanced emotions the characters display, the little quirks in their movement, dialogue, and behavior, and the general world building/environmental

That’s gonna be a yikes from me. some of these screens look ok, but some others of them... Yikes. Hard not to compare it to how ornate and beautiful the 2D Ghibli was. Hope it looks better in motion.

I bet none of you, or any of the other commenters will go and read chap 13 & 14 of her 1st book...”

What I really enjoyed about this fight was all of the movement. It almost felt like an MMO fight, where you were constantly positioning yourself, reading the boss’s behavior/animations, and reacting accordingly.

Cait Sith’s introduction with no context, I hate very much.

I’m sorry to hear this. I was just wondering a few weeks ago whatever happened to this game. I remember the trailer from when it was announced, thinking it looked really cool, and was a unique, original idea -- something sorely lacking in the industry. Really disappointed. Hope it sees the light of day again at some

I really noticed it on the doors at the motel-partments. I honestly figured it was a design choice they made just to keep the framerate up. Tactical texture quality: the big set piece things designed to attract your attention have great textures (i.e. the wall in 7th Heaven), and the little things you don’t really pay

“Is it realistic for me to be able to stop on a dime and teleport anywhere I want? Nope — I should have to be at one of the locations designed for teleportation to teleport.” Easy enough.

You answered your own question. I got the upgrades I wanted and didn’t bother with the rest (until the end of the game). Saves you quite a chunk of change. ;)

Aside from the fact that I roleplayed fast travel and only used it at the wells to begin with, I legit had like 30000 spirit energy left over at the end of the game. so this “gate” is about as rickety as they come. Not an issue IMO. On the other hand the HUD reduction is fantaaaaastic, and will probably get going on

I expect it to be three parts (because video game things come in threes). First one through Midgar, second one through the City of the Ancients or Northern Crater, third one covering the rest. I think people will [rightly] be pissed if they go beyond that. As nice as it is to have this story expanded and fleshed out,

This game needs to win all the art and music awards. I’ve never experienced a game like this before, and the art, art direction, and music are the reason why. It’s absolutely stunning.

I’m surprised that Ori has so thoroughly flown under the radar. One of the best 2d platformers in recent memory, and I’ve legit seen nothing about this game leading up to release. I didn’t even know it had been delayed until this month until I went looking for it in the store on its previous release date last month.

From what I’ve read/been told, the demo was around an hour long. So, not 10 minutes. ;) But yeah, point taken. I’m on board to see Final Fantasy VII at a minimum, hopefully (?) see Ori since it’s out next month, and take a look at a bunch of other games. The Last of Us was a big part of my interest, but not the entire

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Calling it how I see it. It doesn’t affect you, so you’re not bothered by it. It affects me, so I’m bothered by it. They have lost a good chunk of my good will toward them with their recent decisions, this one included, so I’m comfortable sitting here and saying that.

Yeah, I could see it cascading. A lot of very anti-consumer stuff going around lately. Consumers have to decide if it’s ok or not. Given I’ve got a PC rig set up, I’m thinking I’ll hold off on buying a PS5 out of Coronavirus concerns at this point, maybe check out the competition.

Well that’s incredibly disappointing. Just bought tickets to pax a few days ago, and was looking forward to multiple games from Sony. Literally passed up on E3 specifically because Sony wasn’t going to be there. I know Boston is a global hotbed for Coronavirus, what with the literal 1 case to date, but still, I’m a

My cynicism goes in a slightly different direction. I feel like this is part of the protracted backlash to opening the expo to the public, and the complications thereof. Industry people were not super happy about that, and one by one, they seem to be dropping like flies now.

I bought it wanting to 1) try out the paddles and see if they really freed up my other fingers as much as I hoped, and 2) see if the buttons were more responsive and less mushy than they are on the base controller. It turned out to be a negatory in both cases (although I didn’t really experiment much with a 2-paddle

If I could hold the controller comfortably in such a way that I wasn’t constantly accidentally hitting the paddles, I might have. :)
