Milwaukee is definitely better than Chicago. I think the worst part of Milwaukee is that the traffic makes no sense and is frustrating for that reason. Chicago has a ton of people and is huge so you expect the bad traffic. Milwaukee traffic you’ll be driving at a normal speed, all of sudden need to brake to 10 mph,

I just found that the license plate “XSNOX” is available where I live. If I weren’t too cheap to pay for a vanity plate I would put this on my wife’s TDI. Someone do this so I can live vicariously through them.

Isn’t that at the same time the best and worst part of being in the industry? I’m in the same boat with some things and would love to shout out “Guess what I know, Guess what I know!” but can’t because then I wouldn’t have the cool job anymore.

“Whereas the paint on the original Merkury 4 is silver, the paint on the Kosmic 6 is chrome, you see. So they’re different.”

Rightfully so considering she was driving a vehicle towards a police officer. The only reason she wasn’t was because the cop missed with the two shots he fired at her.

No, but $600 will buy you a tune from APR that will get more power and better mpg than current.

Well said. The 4-banger and slushbox were done for efficiency and fuel economy the issue is not with BMW. And like you said the transmissions are pretty great for being "slushboxes."

Also, as if Kinja knew I was mocking it, I was unable to properly quote that text.

“They have a great working relationship with the Geely cult, and even help with their Kinja page.”

To say that it does nothing I think is going too far. Though the limits they set aren’t the limits the cars actually meet, if there were no limits at all (or higher) the pollution out of the cars would be much worse. Kind of like telling a chronically late person to be somewhere half an hour earlier than they need to

We got the stupid question!! Courtesy of Michael Burgess of Texas-

Typical VW polluting our air

Mine too! My TL;DR summary was "We fucked up, not sure what we're doing to fix it yet though"

Way more than I’d like to admit (to myself or others). I’m definitely a German car snob, which sucks having two VWs right now. I like the nicer build quality (or feeling of). A lot of it also comes down to working on cars and staying with what I know how to work on and what I have the tools for. With VW, I have a

Looks like I have the bargaining chip with the wife for that APR tune I've had my eye on. "In the long run that extra 50 ft-lb of torque and 30 hp will save us money!"

A show that explores different car cultures would be great. Something like Anthony Bourdain but with cars rather than food. There was a Drive video Matt Farah did a year or two ago where he explored the car culture of Panama that would serve as a great template.

One of the first things I learned after getting my 01.5 Passat, remember to squeeze your nipples. Or cut off the tips but then they may start whistling.

So many people are being too negative. If we do indeed get a new show with Clarkson, Hammond, and May, it doesn’t mean that you have to be loyal to them and shun any other Top Gear show. Don’t look at the shows as not being as good as the “real” thing, look at it as a car show which will hopefully be another group of

I’m too cheap to buy reports but was curious about the 05.5 Jetta that taught me all the lessons in how not to buy a car. We had to replace the catalytic converter at 85,000 miles, then traded it in at 90,000 miles when the timing chain stretched. I was curious about the poor sap that bought the car. Some googling of

This was my first thought. It took a while to come across this, it looks like the rest of Jalopnik relate him more with "Danger Zone" and Archer.
