I honestly thought Chang was okay for most of S5, too. Especially the bear dance episode!

Aw, come on guys. Mixology is a much better Annie episode than Basic fuckin' Sandwich.

I'm guessing Community, like Parks, would've gotten a slight final season bump ahead of its lowest S5 points. If Parks averaged a 1.3/1.4, Community could've maintained around a 1.1/1.2. Still a lot better than that woeful Bad Judge/A to Z block.

Yeah, 3am is just a little too late. If it was 2am, I'd have no problem. Fuck midnight pacific time!

Well, they also passed on Kimmy Schmidt, to be fair.

There was really no reason they had to cancel Community and burn off Parks like a red-headed stepchild. A block of final seasons for both Community & Parks would've done way better than any comedy NBC has aired this year.

Not so much a mystery as much as a confirmation of what we all dreaded was true.

Hmm, yeah, maybe that was it. What Parnell was saying was ridiculous, but Jake's reaction wasn't as clear.

The post-production was done after the Netflix pick-up, so they just didn't cut things they normally would've cut to shrink down to network TV time.

I think my dream scenario would be if they got a back 9 that was confirmed as the final 9 episodes, set to premiere in the fall.

I usually think Chris Parnell is hilarious, but I don't know, his character just made me kind of sad? It's not that I don't think that sort of tragedy-comedy mix can work, but I don't think this show is particularly good at it because it's usually so light-hearted.

I feel like the entire scene with Chris Parnell was kind of too much for this show. They've established themselves as a very silly comedy that doesn't really delve into the actual seriousness of policework that much, so to have a dangerous hostage situation with a highly unstable man was…awkward.

Episodes 7 through 11 are straight perfection. (The last two are also great, if slightly less fun since they have a lot of plot to wrap up.)

Yeah, basically everyone in Fey's world is a caricature of something. Liz Lemon was a caricature of uptight liberal white people, Jack Donaghy was a caricature of one-pecenters, Jenna was a caricature of vapid celebrities, Mrs. Voorhees is a caricature of Real Housewives-esque trophy wives, Titus is a caricature of

Interesting that you mention Happy Endings because that was another show that utilized stereotypes as a way to make fun of stereotypes (Derek being a great example of that, but they had a very different example of gay representation wwith Max so people weren't mad about it.)

The only thing I had an issue with was the Native American subplot, which I wouldn't say was *completely* offensive but was uncomfortable and misguided. The rest seemed like typical Tina Fey "using stereotypes to make fun of stereotypes" humor, which I'm okay with, but I get why people are uncomfortable with a

I'm assuming they are saving the As for later episodes, which are even better than these.

Someone on Twitter pointed out that you could make a perfect four-comedy block from the shows NBC has abandoned to other places: Community/Kimmy Schmidt/Brooklyn 99/Mindy Project.

Between this and Kimmy Schmidt, it's apparently "AMC Actors Pop Up On Dark Comedies Week."

…hmm did you finish Kimmy Schmidt?
