It's a shame too because Basic Story was setting up what could've been a very interesting finale, but they obviously thought they were probably coming back and went the other way.

Why is he terrible? This is a thoughtful, well-written analysis of both episodes. Just because you don't agree with something doesn't make it automatically terrible.
WHAT WILL WE DO IF WE DON'T LIVE IN A WORLD WHERE WE SPEND EVERY MINUTE CRYING OVER HOW AMAZING BREAKING BAD IS
Speaking of Cooperative Polygraphy, Season 5 being the final season kind of sheds that episode in a new light for me, for some reason. I think it's the probably the best "closure of the story circle" that we got.
Now that we know S5 is the last, Cooperative Polygraphy works really well as a kind of de facto finale, especially given it's the final farewell for Pierce and the start of the farewell for Troy.
Yeah, I mean I love Ozymandias too, but I've already read about how amazing Ozymandias is like three trillion times. I don't need to read it again. This will at least make things interesting.
HAHAHA YES NOW THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT
Oh yeah! Can't really argue with that choice too much (although there's plenty of better Louie S2 episodes).
Modern Family of course. But Community's nomination was for writing. I don't remember which one that went to. (Probably Modern Family!)
You know, in retrospect, Community's sole writing Emmy nomination for Remedial Chaos Theory is kind of amazing. The show was completely ignored by award shows, but that script was literally TOO GOOD to ignore.
I do know that! I was just exaggerating, even though it seems like a person born in 2004 should still be shitting themselves.
I really like that idea, especially since most of S9's best episodes are in the first half anyway.
Yes, but unfortunately mental illness is still stigmatized enough that some people would genuinely rather see their kids go to prison than be branded as "crazy".
I think Animation Domination coverage began when TV coverage did in fall 2007, so I guess that's Season 19. But really, what is there to say about Seasons 12-18? Seasons 10 and 11 aren't very good, but I could see them warranting coverage because it's interesting to discuss the initial decline (and there's still some…
Season 9 is pretty good, but Season 8 weirdly feels kind of like a final season to me, so I've always considered it the de facto end to classic Simpsons.
The thing about O'Neal is that he generally knows when to totally snark on something and when to be somewhat earnest.
Well, someone born in 2004 isn't going to remember all of the dissection of '00s culture. But someone born in 2004 is too busy like, I don't know, shitting themselves to care about nostalgia.
I noticed that too and then was embarrassed that I noticed it.
I don't know why they didn't just wait until now to do I Love the '90s. No one was nostalgic for the '90s in 2004 - that special got a similar reaction that this one is getting. But now? People would be all over that shit.
It didn't become a pop culture phenomenon until 2009 though, so the 2007 inclusion is definitely questionable.
