“Lessons haven’t been learned”

They’re not shuffling jobs across the border. This is a factory that is already up and running being re-tooled to support GM’s transition to EV’s just like they’re doing here in the US. The UAW isn’t being fully honest here. They’re trying to shame GM into shutting down plants and shuffling those jobs across the

When was the last time the UAW made an argument in good faith?

GM is spending $9B on US battery manufacturing facilities and are spending $1B to update their existing Ramos plant for electric vehicles. The UAW is just playing political games, they won’t be happy unless GM builds everything exclusively in the US which will never happen again.

That was 13 years ago. The loans were paid back early and in full. Get over it.

Is GM just supposed to not re-tool any of their international plants to support next-gen vehicles? The GM response highlighting domestic investment seems spot on.

I don’t care how great the new Supra drives - I can’t stand looking at that lumpy mess.

I still think this is a mess of a design, based on a 6 year old concept, not helped by it being half BMW.

THIS:

Saturn is a great example of the issues happening with GM corporate decisions in the 90s and 2000s. It was a clever idea at the start, but slowly got chipped away, taking away the valuable elements of the brand.

There will be no better answer than this.

Tucker is always worth a Mention. 50 Cars

Is it just me, or does it actually feel like the normals (not-car people) might be starting to turn on Musk and Tesla?

This new Lyriq may or may not be an excellent EV, but either way it’s NOT competing with the Tesla Model Y. The Y is a fairly pedestrian EV crossover/cuv (if you disregard the price) and is not a luxury vehicle, whereas the Cadillac is a luxury vehicle.

A Model X sized competitor, for a lower price with conventional doors and a dealer network that isn’t just a fancy store for me to buy stuff from?

Look who wrote the article - an article about GM. All he wants to do is whine about GM.

Going against the "simple" theme, Bugatti Divo. I think I just love tail lights that look like they'd be an absolute pain in the ass to fix.

This is probably way too cynical, but...  What the hell was the mom doing? It looked like she walked the kid off of the platform and onto the track, and then pretended that there was some invisible barrier preventing her from reaching the kid.
