Why does Cinemax even still exist?  For that matter why did it ever exist?  Aside from the fact that it doesn’t pretend its pornography is groundbreaking documentary programing it’s basically just HBO for people who don’t want very many original series.

They rather pointedly waited until after 10:00 to air the WAP performance, so I doubt any of these complaints will come to anything.

The holy water shoes didn’t get a fraction of the media attention that the Satan blood shoes did though, so it wasn’t as likely to affect their brand image and was easier to ignore. Also a shoe based on Satan is inherently going to be more controversial and potentially brand damaging than one based on Jesus what with

I believe their case is less rooted in a problem with the first sale doctrine and more in that they were causing confusion in the market and associating Nike’s trademark with a product they did not create or approve.  Given the number of people who did seem legitimately confused about Nike’s involvement they may well

It’s not even that they’re exactly wrong on the facts but they’re presenting them in a way that’s wildly unproductive. Like, even if they do successfully manage to convince people that America as a concept is rotten to it’s core and that anything positive its accomplished is bullshit... what is anyone supposed to do

It’s kind of weird to me how every generation seems to “discover” that America has done some bad things to African Americans and Native Americans and feel the need to teach us this unknown fact in the most edgelord way possible, but the recent generation seems to be unique in their assumption that they’re the first

The notion that America would still be in Afghanistan in the world of the MCU after decades of time and several major world shaking events is either an incredibly cynical political statement... or it’s a very lazy and unimaginative writing choice.

I might be forgetting but didn’t Bucky do terrible things because he was literally being brainwashed and controlled by Hydra? Karli doesn’t have that excuse, she’s been acting on her own accord.

I think you can only be a war criminal if you’re part of a formal uniformed army (or in the civilian leadership thereof). Acts like this would more likely be deemed terrorism... or freedom fighting if they end up winning.

I think one movie about this guy was probably enough.

That’s Midway sound engineer Dan Forden.  Have no idea how the bosses didn’t make them take out that inside joke.

No, it was picked up in a joint deal with Hulu and Neon with the intention of it going exclusively to Hulu after Neon gave it a (possibly shortened) theatrical run, but then when the pandemic hit Neon sold off their part of the deal.

And text on the screen means you’re focusing on that and not the act and everything else that goes on can be super distracting and take people out of a movie.”

I’m sure they understood that the Navy wouldn’t approve a story that was critical of the Navy, which is why the only cuts needed were relatively minor issues.”

The difference is that Bruckheimer, Scott, and the writers didn’t make that movie out of any desire to help the Navy, they made it because they thought it would be cool and that this was the depiction of the military that the public wanted in Reagan’s America and they were largely indifferent to the fact that the Navy

The Sonic thing wasn’t really a fan campaign though; the trailer came out, people made it known that they thought it sucked, and something like a week later the studio decided the fans were right and announced a retool.

It doesn’t happen because, frankly, most of these directors are over-qualified. Why pay Peter Jackson to make Spider-Man: Homecoming when you can get Jon Watts for cheap.

    Not an Oscar winner

I would argue that the “one film since which was a major dud” likely had a lot more to do with it than ZDT.

People throw the word “propaganda” around pretty recklessly.
