“Variety reports that Wonder Woman 1984 “collected $16.7 million from 2,100 North American theaters, the best opening weekend to date in the coronavirus era.”
When Democrats say “elitists” they mean rich people, when Republicans say “elitists” they mean smart people.
A prison sentence would hurt him more than irrelevance.
I’m pretty sure Empire State of Mind will still be around in 30 years... the city of New York is going to will it to happen.
Bad Guy strikes me as the Billie Eilish song that will age the least gracefully. It’s a very specifically gen z teenage song based on some very 2010s production.
I could have sworn I read about this happening weeks ago...
People care enough to have written an article about it which you cared enough to click on and even cared enough to comment on...
Probably not a coincidence this came out the same day as the revelation about Kushner’s illegal shell company. Trump consistently finds ways to divert news cycles by releasing inane bullshit to distract the media and they fall for it damn near every time even after four fucking years.
Being a rational adult like that isn’t always the most fun approach. Internet flame wars can be enjoyable as long as certain lines aren’t crossed.
Yeah, but Heroes failures kind of vindicated the Lost approach in the long run. Heroes may not have “dragged out” mysteries but as a result they blew their load quickly and had to introduces increasingly outlandish nonsense in order to keep up the pace and they ran out of ideas quickly while Lost managed to mostly…
Yeah, that timeline is about right. The Heroes S1 and Lost S3 ran from October of 2006 to May 2007 with hiatuses around Nov/Dec/Jan. Man... TV seasons were long back then.
Heroes was just really obviously a ripoff of Lost, at least in terms of being this sort of mythos driven ensemble genre show, the first of many that would be made in the two or three years after the former premiered.
I remember being a Lost fan around the time Heroes premiered and was immensely annoyed when a bunch other Lost fans jumped ship to get on the Heroes bandwagon even though Heroes obviously sucked. Then Lost dropped the big season 3 cliffhanger right when Heroes was really starting to reveal it’s tediousness and I felt…
To me Extraction is an example why maybe having your stunt coordinator directing your movie might not always be a good idea as it struck me as a technically impressive but fundamentally and uniquely soulless action movie lacking in real style. John Wick may not have been Shakespeare but it’s nutty universe and…
I for one find Azkaban fairly over-rated. I think the Alfonso Cuaron name leads a lot of people to assume it’s more of an improvement than it actually is. There’s still a lot of weird things held over from Columbus’ take on the series and it generally feels like something of an awkward transition film for the series…
I would say that the distinction is that I could see Emma Watson having eventually become a movie star without Harry Potter but can’t see Radcliffe having done the same.
“In 2001, the oldest millennials were 20, and the youngest were 5. There were a lot more kids out there in the world, and kids like stories about castles and monsters.”
Still has a long way to go to outlive the longest running unscripted series, Meet the Press (1947-Present).
I mean, yeah, it’s more “true to life” than the one where they drag a bank vault through the streets of Rio de Janeiro attached to sports cars and the one where they drive a sports car through three buildings but compared to any other normal movie not called “Fast and Furious” it’s still plenty ridiculous and…
