I live about 2 miles east of Woodward and I haven’t gone to the cruise in 10 years. Due to I-75 construction I have been taking Woodward home from work downtown, so maybe I’ll see some interesting things on today’s commute.

I can’t stand the people complaining about the noise. I live near Woodward. I can hear the engines and the tire squeals. I knew this would be a thing when I moved here and it’s only one week a year.

That scene made me laugh harder than it had any right to.  It was such a delightful piss-take on the hot-shot cop genre.

There really isn’t even much to see anymore these days. Sure there are some classics, but half the cars on the road will be brand new Chargers with those stupid yellow protectors (because you can lease a Charger for basically no money), base model Mustangs and Camaros, and then a bunch of weird cars that are trying to

Neutral: Does Rivian still count as a start up? If so, I'll pick them.

That’s a solution that can only work in Germany.

Alanis, this is good reporting.

This is a very big point most people overlook. I’ve looked at too many “clean” Carfax cars with obvious structural repairs to even bother with one.

Yup.  Though I’ve been in taxis that were rolling deathtraps, too.  Appears inspections aren’t required in some states for any sort of pay-person-to-take-you-somewhere services.  I’m looking at you, Michigan and Indiana.

It’s bad enough that I have to be on the same roads with people who have wondered why their car squeals when they depress the brakes for the last five years, who just use their high beams when their headlights go out, and who only have one functional brake light (and it’s the same red lamp and their turn indicator!) I

Ooo okay, you’re one of those guys who thinks empty acreage counts the same as people.

Hopefully not an unpopular opinion, but kids shouldn’t be fed fast food.

Ugh goddamn engine stop/start. Turning off then back on 5 seconds later at every stoplight is killing the electronics and gas mileage of my goddamn car and I refuse to press the goddamn button every time I start the thing.

Fine, but you’re going to get pushback from people with kids.

I was just coming here to comment on CFA’s insanely efficient drive-thru process (especially when they get the “mobile order team” out there on busy days to take orders without the need for a speaker/mic). It moves at least twice as fast as a comparably busy McDonald’s or BK.

The number of people that will willingly sit in a line of 12 cars at a drive-thru, versus parking and walking in, is astounding.

I mean we should. We should have more roundabouts, and we should replace a lot of stop signs with yields. This would reduce idling and acceleration decreasing both emissions and noise.

I appreciate you advocating for more roundabouts, and I agree.

While we’re at it, let’s get rid of all that unnecessary idling sitting at red lights by banning those too.

“GM and VW are idiots”, you could have stopped there.
