I don’t know how they could do that today without some serious loophole, it basically meets none of the current safety requirements. Driver and passenger airbags, ABS, tire pressure monitoring, I think even backup cameras are required now. Not to mention that diesel probably doesn’t meet current emissions…

Chinese auto sales were already in decline before Trump got busy touting his trade deals. The industry as a whole, had over-cooked that golden goose, regardless of any political action no matter who it was from.

They lose money because they subsidize part of the true cost or your ride. Uber and Lyft rides are pretty cheap; they should cost more.
