I didn’t have time to go look for and read the paper, I was responding to what was written in the article. But I’m glad the paper addresses some of these issues (i wish the Giz article addressed those but that’s asking a lot of a popular publication).

I’m a POC, a BLM supporting liberal progressive that’s a married to a mexican woman. I’m literally about the last person that’s going to try to minimize Ancient Egyptian achievements, of which there are many.

While this is really interesting, I think there has to be some questions about whether this was truly intended as a medical procedure. Even if the Egyptians had some conception that the cancerous legions were what was killing the patient, it doesn’t really preclude other possibilities other than medical reasons why

When i was 18, I read about libertarianism and wondered if I was a libertarian. I spoke to a few libertarians. I knew I was definitely not a libertarian.

This film is no longer funny.

Now playing

2 Academy Award wins, 9 nominations, 3 Grammy’s, 7 Grammy Nominations, 9 Tony Nominations, 23 gold and platinum records and the National Medal of Arts (the US’ highest cultural award) seems like it merits a bit more dignified a description than “Disney Musician.”

If you didn’t tell Americans the nationality of the person who did this and told them to guess, what % of the adult American population would guess it would be an American that’s dumb enough to do this.

Russia’s still carrying on the proud Soviet car manufacturing tradition of the Yugo with the Amber EV

I mean, not defending Spotify here, but tbf, if I buy those wired headphones they sell at CVS for like $9, I’m pretty happy if it lasts a year lol.

I was like, how much does this thing cost?

Holy shit, $4800+ minimum for 2 days w 2 people?  I got round trip tickets to Tokyo for my family of 4 for less than that.

Wow, Ready Player One made $200M more than Max Max Fury Road? That’s pretty crazy.

It’s not really the hilarious wrong answers that are the real problem. it’s gonna be the less obvious, much more likely to be taken as true answers that will cause issues.

Discrimination is about power. What’s done to one group which has historically lacked power, is not the same when the same thing is done to the group IN power.

I mean, you don’t have to embrace eugenics to be racist. Playing with racist tropes or jokes while failing to see how they are harmful is a form of racism.

Having racist beliefs, or embracing racist symbolism isn’t like a on or off switch, but more like a gradual scale with a lot of in between.

Not Asian, but specifically Japanese.

I was agreeing with you bud.  I was pointing out the rise of professional youtubers was even later than 2005.

December 2007 was the first time Youtube launched the Youtube Partner program, making it possible to make money from videos on Youtube for the first time.

I feel like Andor actually accomplished so much of what Lucas was going for in the Prequel trilogies.

Aside from the nakedly racist stereotypes (Jarjar: Afro-Carribean, Neimoidians: Japanese), there’s one thing above all that really bothers me about TPM.
