Tribalism is just a human instict. When you associate with a group, you identify wins and losses of that group as if it affects you personally—even when it is clear that it will not from a logical perspective.

I disagree with Bonchon being expensive—16 wings (which are huge) + a few orders of rice and picked daikon cost under $35. That feeds me, my wife and my two elementary school kids no problem with some left overs.
Fwiw, Japan’s theme park inspection rules are pretty tight with daily inspection requirements, unlike in the US which have VERY loose inspection requirements.. I’d feel way safer riding this ride in Tokyo than I would riding some random roller coaster at a State Fair in the US.
Full disclosure: the last Captain Tsubasa game I played was Captain tsubasa 3 which came out in like 1992 lol.
Just as an FYI, the game mechanics of Blitzball (mixing RPG elements when the ball carrier meets with a defender) was straight out of Captain Tsubasa soccer games that have been popular in Japan since 1988.
I did the same thing with “Office Space” literally a few weeks ago, where a much younger coworker checked their phone and was like “you’re referencing a movie that came out the same year I was born.”
I was 12, so I definitely knew how to make my own children when this game came out (although they wouldn’t arrive for another 24 years).
AFAIK, 88 wasn’t used by the Nazis in 1945. It’s mostly a modern white supremacist/Neo Nazi movement thing.’
Here’s the thing. In the law, when someone is found mentally incompetent, as is the case here, a person isn’t being involuntarily committed to a mental institute as retribution for their crime. The crime could be stealing a handful of quarters or a bottle of juice.
I mean... do these guys do like zero community outreach before they implement new policies?
I’m pretty sure, if you just grabbed 30 random twitter users and were like “what would happen if we allowed artistic nudity” 27 or 28 of them could have predicted “you’ll be inundated with naked anime girls.”
Important context, Geoff Keighley isn’t just the host of the Game Awards, but also its executive producer and de facto leader/organizer.
Yeah, I wondered about this. When working from home, I’d sometimes have a game open so if I had a quick 20-30 minutes between meetings I could slip in a little gaming Steam would count me as playing the entire time.
After so many major players dropped E3 as a serious place to do business by like 10 years ago, I don’t think E3 could play this role any longer. This might have been true 20 years ago, but it certainly wasn’t true 5 years ago.
Agricultural crop insurance is entirely different than homeowners insurance. Real estate values for single family homes don’t exactly trend 1 to 1 agricultural land values.
To be fair... idk where Amourath’s orchards are, but most citrus orchards in Flordia are in central florida. They’re not beachside, where most of the homes are that are seeing insurance issues.
Suing a company that only does business in China for copyright violations in China, within Chinese courts is largely a fools errand.
So just last year, I was working in Roppongi in my company’s tokyo office. I work in a law firm, and we have Japanese translators and paralegals that are Japanese. Well educated (all Tokyo University or Kyoto University grads), politically liberal dudes, not your typical “ネトウヨ”
US: 71 % approval of gay marriage
I’m not so sure characterizing Japan as “back in the past” is really accurate. I’ve lived in England, the US and Japan, but far and away the worst place for racism I’ve ever seen was England. I mean at least in the Japan and the US fans don’t throw bananas at black athletes.
I did say “ Women’s rights issues, racism and homophobia,”—but yes, totally agree.
