Exactly, one of the few things I remember from Economics class is the idea of “sunk cost”. If the money is already spent and gone, theirs no obligation to utilize the product once it has no value to you.

On the Metro ride in, there were a few stops in between stations as things backed up. It was the biggest day of ridership in Metro’s history. Everyone in my car was headed to Obama’s first inauguration and were in great spirits despite the delays. Part of my excitement was the end of the nightmare that was the Bush…
I have a learning disability. I know murder is bad. I don’t know why so many people are looking for reasons to justify her behaviour. I’m not saying to condemn her either but ya know we have courts to sort it out.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say again: poor ratings will drive this steaming pile of ego absolutely insane and I’m encouraging everyone NOT to watch. The meltdown will be most entertaining.
Don’t give them the ratings. Wait until Jezebel or another friendly site puts the pics and coverage up.
I want to find out what else will be airing at this time, so I can make it a point to watch something else. It would be really good if not only did he get low ratings, but if he lost to House Hunters or some shit.
As a DC resident I’m not even going to tune in I’ll wait til the next day to read. Obama was nearly 2 million in attendance.... Where as trump there will be about half of that protesting against his presidency.
He could recover at least $200. He did have an offer, after all!
Or hang on to it until after the in-ugh-uration and sell it on eBay. I’m sure some trumpette would love to have it as a souvenir.
I can think of several media outlets who have no reason to inflate the crowd’s apparent size for Trump’s benefit.
No, but the crowds the next day are projected to be, I believe, in the 200k range so DC will still be a mess. A good mess, but a mess nonetheless.
here’s my thing, though
My sister is mentally handicapped (learns a lot slower than other people) and her intellect age is anywhere from 8 to 13 years old, depending on the subject. But she has always known right from wrong.
Here’s the one thing I would say about that. It’s entirely possible that the reason she got married is because her family married her off to this guy to make her “someone else’s problem”, as horrible as that would be. If she’s disabled enough that she was under their guardianship even as an adult, it would have been…
I and you both do not know the extent (if there is one) to her disability. She could have a mind of a 5 year old and family just hid it and married her off. Or she could be fully functioning human with no real issues. We don’t know. I do not think speculating without more facts is the right coarse of action.
We have no idea what her disability is and it would be illegal for her teacher (even former) to disclose that information to the press. It’s iffy that her former teacher did this now, tbh.
Speaking as an LD person, it’s a spectrum disorder just like (and sometimes including Autism). I knew kids who could barely read at 16 and I know ones who have gone on the be Doctors and lawyers. Saying a person has a learning disability is not saying very much. All it says is we learn differently than the majority of…
It depends. Special education students in California are generally either placed in mild/moderate or moderate/severe classes. Kids in moderate/severe classes tend to have significant intellectual disabilities. Kids in mild/moderate classes are often as intelligent as any other student, but have disabilities like…
100% yes; it’s called ‘being an accessory’ to a crime. A term you have likely heard in the movies. In practice, the police and the DA use a lot of discretion in those cases. They usually save it for the people who chose not to share knowledge of the crime that in some way impeded their investigation. There’s also…
California has been in the process of mainstreaming as many special education students as possible and has been for years. So if Noor Salman was in special day classes, she must have significant issues (for example kids in the eighth grade who can’t make change).
