Yep. That’s either the Soberanes or Chimney fire, the smoke from which has been hanging here for weeks. Not exactly paradise at the moment. I mean, it beats the catastrophic flooding that our friends in Louisiana are suffering, but it sucks. Fucking arsonists can’t start floods.

With the exception of the big-ass fire in the background, maybe.

With the exception of the P1, they all sound about the same too. I worked among many of these cars for a couple of days and still couldn’t discern the cosmetic differences at a glance. They were identified only by their colors.

Made a post on your behalf

I was just going through your stuff, amazing shots and history. Your pics?

Wow, out of the gray for that, amazing shots. The Luftwaffe anniversary livery is stunning. The name “Nat Makepeace” below that canopy isn’t without irony.

Damn, that steak is tasty.

No restrictions where the car can drive at Level 5? So Level 5 Mustangs can still drive on sidewalks, got it.

Someday I’ll get over there. If I had to choose one, and I’ll have to because trips across the US and Atlantic aren’t cheap, I think I’d do the FoS. Either way Goodwood is on my list, and the racing on that side of the pond is arguably better than it is here.

Can we fine Harley owners for being obnoxiously loud now?

Cool comparison, nothing quite like the modern prototype.

I’m really looking forward to the Trans Am, Can Am, 60's GTs, IMSA & FIA cars, and everything else on Saturday. Should be good.

The auction, yeah. I was thinking more of the lawn. Pebble is just starting to come around to postwar cars as potential best in show winners, which will change the whole dynamic there as prewar enthusiasts age.

I just have no interest in standing around stationary cars on a golf course. Yes the cars are world-class artifacts, and maybe I’ll go someday for the novelty of it, but to me old cars are kinetic art and have to be experienced in use.

Most of the cars at Pebble aren’t video-game worthy drives. Amazing cars, but most modern gamers aren’t looking for two ton coachbuilt, body-on-frame cars, drum brakes, bias ply tires, and crash boxes.

I’m going to Laguna Seca and I want you to come chill, where the cars will be playing the song of my people to my 4 year old. Pebble is a shitload of proletariat monies to chill.

I did hesitate to add that, but there are a lot of straw-grasping lawyers in this world so one never knows.

So, I work for a Bosch service center, and this is interesting. I’m not defending VW or Bosch here, but I have to wonder if the lawyers in question are referencing or misunderstanding VWAG’s “Basic Settings” mode, which is a workshop mode that allows stationary testing of engine and emissions control systems in

.

I do too, but that joke doesn’t seem to get old.
