Well, I’m a BMW dork, among other things. Sometimes such obscure information is useful! I’d imagine that original Seven is rolling in its grave about now.

Which has now come full circle as applied to a BMW Mini, since the original Seven became the Dixi, the car that launched BMW into the automotive field.

“Are my fellow teen hipster pals going to know what an Austin Seven is?”

I’m a service writer (and ex-tech) at an independent European shop, I get endless questions about the VW fiasco, and people think we’re somehow associated with it. It’s been several calls & questions a day for the last few months, and I don’t even work for VW! Just had a conversation about it 5 minutes ago. I can’t

This so would not fly in America, land of killing the messenger.

Since together they comprise the Anti-Destination League, we should call them Slows.

SoCal is hard, it’s just such a scene. I’m up in SLO, and just found a fastback up in Healdsburg for less than $7k. It went away quickly, but they’re out there. There’s a rough runner out in the Valley for $4000 currently too.

I’ve been looking, they’re actually not too expensive for running projects, $6-8,000 will get you a runner that needs cosmetics. That can’t last though, they’re too cool to not appreciate.

Congratulations! Now you see the enthusiast dad/mom dilemma. Glad to know you won’t judge me for replacing a manual 325iT with a 10-year old Sienna. I mean, you might, but the Sienna makes mom’s life a hell of a lot easier.

Love it! I just sold my ‘66 Fiarlane back to the guy I bought it from, now I want another to replace it. I’d love a ‘68 fastback, or a Galaxie.

Yes, please! Love it. Now I miss my old ‘66 though, dammit.

VAG now owns controlling interests in Porsche and Lamborghini... Porsche and Lamborghini both use shields for their badges... shields have three points... triangles have three points... Illuminati confirmed!

I think you just invented a new Jalopnik meme. We needed something to replace the Lambo bit, so thanks.

I’ll just leave this here, with regard to the comments...

As a Californian, I corroborate this observation.

The old adage about driving slow cars fast holds true. I’m sure I’ll be crucified for this, but used to have an E28 M5... and I chose to drive my old 300,000+ mile ‘93 Toyota pickup more often than not, because I could drive it on the doorhandles without attracting attention or getting into trouble with the law.
