Seriously, these are great, great trucks. I’d drive one forever. I’ve seen the 2UZ pass 300k miles, easy.

“Cheap”

The first time I drove one of these things, its owner (the wife of a European shop owner and former racer) asked me what I thought of it. I told them “if it had better steering it’d be a really great car.” I stand by that statement.

It would have saved us from suffering the other movies.

I like them personally, but as cars from Germany go, they were doomed.

Jalops demand Ford build it so we can buy it used!

“The ad has a few pictures and a good description”

Really, the 912E? I’ve driven several, and have always enjoyed them. Easily daily driveable, and the handling is just fine.

I’m now secretly hoping for Jenson to become the embodiment of James Hunt at his peak next season.

Beer pondering is a very important part of any project, not to be skipped. Even if all it does is keep the car in your thoughts, it’s worth doing. So ponder and plan away, and good luck with it.

Well congratulations on graduation! Definitely a weird one with the engine, I recall thinking it sounded distinctly like valvetrain noise. Good luck with it, hope it’s nothing too serious.

Hey man, haven’t seen you around lately! Curious what you find, and I hope it’s back on the road soon.

Now playing

“whom you may remember from that time he proposed to his then-girlfriend at the Nurburgring.”

This would conflict pretty directly with Chris Harris On Cars, I wonder how that would work out.

Hell no, have you even seen one lately?

Not completely nuts, but I couldn’t afford to buy this car again in the current market. I paid $3,000 for this, a rust free & running ‘68 with fresh paint, with a tired engine. My first one was $600 in 1996, a 1600 with a 2.0, Weber DCOEs, BBS wheels, and Recaros. It was a little rusty, but that’d be at least $5-6000

Yup, love that bike. Unfortunately it’s also been collecting dust lately, I’m hoping for a Christmas day ride.

Turns out there are a few of us around these parts with dormant ‘02 projects. Let 2016 be the year of the great Jalop 02 Resurgence!

Good eye ;)

The Ford P68 deserves a mention here. A beautiful failure, only raced a handful of times through teething problems with no real success. Kinja mobile has decided that there shall be no pictures.
