Seriously, these are great, great trucks. I’d drive one forever. I’ve seen the 2UZ pass 300k miles, easy.

The first time I drove one of these things, its owner (the wife of a European shop owner and former racer) asked me what I thought of it. I told them “if it had better steering it’d be a really great car.” I stand by that statement.

It would have saved us from suffering the other movies.

Really, the 912E? I’ve driven several, and have always enjoyed them. Easily daily driveable, and the handling is just fine.

Well congratulations on graduation! Definitely a weird one with the engine, I recall thinking it sounded distinctly like valvetrain noise. Good luck with it, hope it’s nothing too serious.

Not completely nuts, but I couldn’t afford to buy this car again in the current market. I paid $3,000 for this, a rust free & running ‘68 with fresh paint, with a tired engine. My first one was $600 in 1996, a 1600 with a 2.0, Weber DCOEs, BBS wheels, and Recaros. It was a little rusty, but that’d be at least $5-6000…

Yup, love that bike. Unfortunately it’s also been collecting dust lately, I’m hoping for a Christmas day ride.
