I think seeing how well this game was received will probably give the company confidence both in sharing more information and the resources that’ll be allocated to the project going forward. I think they’ll definitely be more open with the development going forward than they were with Remake 1.

I’d really want a XIII trilogy just to give those games another chance. I fell off pretty hard on 1 and 2 but Lightning Returns was a really fun time despite some of the plot not landing for me.
I’d be really surprised if FFXVI isn’t in pre-production. FF being in a much better position than at the start of this gen

This wasn’t some kind of empty PR statement, it was one of many questions in an interview feature with over a dozen other questions.
Many companies do in fact hang around when developing their games by putting some on the pre-production backburner while they work on other projects. I think they’re mostly trying to

I don’t think they would completely forego expanding on it at all but it’s clear that this is a project that’s very unique in its circumstances. It has a much bigger cultural cache than almost any other JRPG which guarantees a budget and revenue forecast that a FF6 Remake doesn’t.

More importantly, the enthusiasm of

When taken in conjunction with the rest of the article and the context of the development landscape, it’s actually pretty promising. Remake-1 is pretty polished as it is, especially for a game that had to restart development. I think having a console and game engine that are incredibly easy to use, a (relatively)

Honestly, it seems like if FF6 gets a remake, it’d be more along the lines of the Trials of Mana one from earlier this year. I’d be pretty cool with that, given the budget is a bit bigger.

What’s wrong with you? How can you possibly take a statement like “we’re trying to have it release as soon as we can” cynically?

Sephiroth is introduced a similarly vague way in the original so your complaint there doesn’t make sense.

Tbf there’s a pretty good chance Biden dies, or gets rendered unable to lead.

Just how many Final Fantasy games have you played? I’d say the majority of them are not exactly “happy go-lucky”

MK Even More Komplete Edition hitting current gen consoles and Steam while the the iron is completely frozen.

Yeah, sure

I’d be interested in reading that because while I know the realism angle isn’t everyone’s cup, I think they’ve done a good job of maintaining a lot of the fantastical elements of the original. Is it 1:1? nah but I don’t think it needs to be.
And I’m sorry but boy am I tired of hearing “x game needs to look like

Nothing. People are children and only relate Nomura’s work to something they feel like poking fun at.

You just might be the only one. There’s nothing wrong with the realism meets fantasy approach. I’d say this game’s doing a better job of marrying the two than XV did.

Ugly is subjective. I think it looks cute and its big head is endearing.

You’re more than welcome to not like the design but acting like Carbuncle has a consistent design is silly because it’s been depicted with variety of unique designs.

It most certainly has not.

I agree that value is subjective but I’d argue that the obscene amount of money KH3 made is what should fund the (well-done and admirable) patches rolled out post-release. I would have wanted less revisted content in the DLC, tbh. I’d say I’d buy it for a solid 20 bones.

So he didn't actually say it then. Thanks!

Yeah, worked really well for Star Wars and X Men, Fantasic Four comics and, oh yeah, the smaller movie theaters Disney’s squeezing under its boot.
