BRILLIANT!

Sweet!

WOOHOO! I just made some dinosaur skulls and a key to Erebor with a 3d printer (files out on thingiverse)

Also, I would think the cable would just flap too hard in the breeze unless you, idunno, tied a heavy object to it or something.

I KNOW, RIGHT? OH GOD I THINK WE'VE SLIPPED INTO THE ALTERNATE DIMENSION OF STUPIDITY.

I WANT TO WATCH THIS MOVIE.

This is exactly what I was going to post. Weirdest spinoff I can think of.

I feel very very small in a very big universe.

Neal Stephenson is behind this, isn't he?

I blame Babylon 5. Before that, I can't think of a show (outside of soap operas and their nighttime kin like "Dallas") that had an overarching season plot - particularly open-ended (as opposed to fixed-length) genre shows. After B5, you ended up where everyone ended up with them.

The candlepin bowling show always meant that cartoons were really done for that Saturday.

So good! Also, so meta. I remember wishing the ending had been a bit different (with her reading her own script story or something), but so good. very ... unreconstructed grimm.

I'd rather Wendy Carlos doing a soundtrack for the new Tron. :)

Get Natalie Morales involved in this somehow, please!

It's not just the squids who'll need seasick medicine!

I've spent over 20 years building the infrastructure of the Internet, including helping to try and stop some technical stupidity here and there.

DORK-FUCKIN-TASTIC.

Huh! I thought that whaling had kind of settled down by the early 20th century after the petroleum industry took off - mostly as an 'alternative fuel' because it was cheaper than whale oil. I didn't realize the whaling industry was still so huge post WWII, even.

Ha! Good doggie!
