I agree that liking the coach isn’t necessary, but the coach is someone you can choose.  I am no fan of Cuban for many reasons but an owner can’t be fired.  I was a Mavs fan before Cuban and I’ll be a fan after he’s gone.  My point was simply that if you are choosing a coach I don’t know why you would choose Jackson.
