If it isn’t as bulletproof as a Tundra and doesn’t have an interior like the new Ram, its bound to fail. Its also got a Nissan badge so it automatically falls under the foreign built folder for most full sized pickup buyers.

I’ve never lusted after an EV like this. My chest is getting hot.
Remember when Skyline GTRs were considered heavyweights at 3300lbs?
Is this cool? Absolutely. Way less likely to roll over and kill yourself on the trail w
You might be one of like 6 people who disliked the RSX.
How would you build a integra while meeting regulations and making a profit? The Civic coupe died for a reason.
Unless Honda dropped 2 billion coming up with a carbon tub that could actually make the car light and safe enough to satisfy your inner child and meet crash regulations, you’d never get the exact thing you wanted. What you’re doing right now is what every muscle car boomer did when a new Mustang, Camaro or Charger…
The CTR is based on the regular Civic Hatch and its already on the borderline of what most enthusiasts would pay for a Honda that isn’t an S2000. In order to make an Integra like the old ones they’d have to reengineer and develop the platform, test it for crash regulations and then add the Type-S trim which would jack…
Depending on the market, Integras also came with D16s
I think the Mustangs and Camaros of the 80s and 90s were just so terrible that a lightly breathed on Civic could eat them alive. The ITR was special but there was nothing really fancy about it besides the chassis stiffening and motor updates. Civic Type-Rs of the hayday were pretty much the same save for the extra .2…
Even if Honda managed to do it, how many fanboys are lining up to buy them for whatever massive amount of money they would have to charge for it?
For starters, the only people bitching and moaning about the new Integra were never going to buy one even if it did exist. People are suffering from main character syndrome and forget that Honda of all manufacturers isn’t going to build a bespoke 3 doors chassis for the sake of giving broke millennials and zoomers…
Newer VW interiors are like mid 2000s Fords compared to Acura but I understand if you’re approaching from a performance standpoint. Its also important to remember that the people who are gonna buy these new are either younger people in their 20s and 30s looking for a fun-ish premium daily without the headaches of Germa…
Small luxury/sport sedans are still selling well in most markets. This thing will sell like hotcakes in Canada and China if they sell it over there. As far as the GTi comparison I’d buy it for the physical buttons and long term reliability proposition alone.
I’m pretty sure the Type-S will use the CTR’s running gear and drivetrain
How many economy cars make way more HP than they used to in the 90s in base form? This is kind of a non issue. You can make the argument that it won’t be as fun because of the extra weight and size but the power argument is kinda nitpicky atm.
Enforcement will ALWAYS be more costly than prevention. A computer won’t give his buddy a pass after happy hour and immobilization tech is already wired into most post 90s vehicles anyway. Its literally a matter of installing a fool proof switch. Better to keep a vehicle stationary in the bar parking lot than to allow…
Alcoholism doesn’t have a tax bracket and cars depreciate to the point that poor drunks can afford them anyways. This is a short sighted take.
10000 preventable deaths a year will always be a serious problem regardless of the other causes. You show me reliable technology that can combat everything outside if DUIs and we’ll support it.
I don’t know if you were around for 2020 but not a fucking soul was on the road the entire year. Also, manufacturers are actively developing tech to account for tired drivers and distracted drivers alike. Its hard to implement legislation for incomplete tech we don’t even know works yet.
