sorry to hear, and good on you. it’s sad, really, peoples view of money and what they need to do to survive. true (sad) story; try to make it quick.

completely yes to both of your comments. i’ve worked in banking for a decade now; most of that in a compliance-type of role. regulators, especially lately, have been focusing on overdraft problems in banks, and are actually due late this year to issue new regulation surrounding it. the reason i bring up regulators, is

With Huntington you either need to keep a $300 minimum in savings or link it to a qualifying checking account to avoid the fees. I am an unabashed fan of that bank.

I’m not sure people realize you can turn overdraft protection off. This way debit and ATM transactions are declined. Resulting in no fees! Of course if you write a bad check that is a different story.

Hmmm. I don’t think it’s about being an irresponsible adult. I just like to be prepared. Even if I never use it, it’s an easy enough thing to be prepared for.

I see your points, but at a certain point doesn’t one just have to let boys be boys? As a kid in the 90’s I used to build forts in the woods, explore creeks, play with slingshots/firecrackers etc etc. Did I get hurt? Yes. Could I have gotten seriously hurt? Potentially. But I am glad my dad let me do it all because I

I made the same point earlier and was attacked from mutliple sides for pointing out kids hit other kids with stuff all the time (my example was sticks) and how irresponsible it is to hand a 4 year old a metal hammer. Apparently I’m just too soft and shouldn’t worry about this kid because it isn’t mind.

I tried eating with chopsticks in the hopethat it would help me improve my diet and encourage me to eat better quality food, much as you suggest.

It’s getting harder and harder to pass this as just media exageration, dude.

If you were looking for her some of the difficulties shes faced, all you have to do is look at some of the comments here. God forbid we just let her be a great LoL player.

It’s a shame this doesn’t mention whether the plants are pet-friendly. Peace Lillies are beautiful but toxic to cats and dogs. So are ZZ plants.

I am the head of IT for a small company, we make software i feel like software development is quite different from the rest of the corporate environment. As a small company obviously the surveillance is out and while we block job boards, pornography, etc. I’ve found that almost every developer has legitimate reasons

I agree. It’s just a level of supervision that’s trying to evolve as technology becomes more sophisticated. Construction sites have a foreman. Retail stores have managers. Etc., etc. Supervision of employees is as old as commerce.

I noticed the same thing. I worked at American Express corporate for 7 years. This sounds just like any other major credit card company or finance company.

Great comment, thanks for emphasizing that some of this stuff is pretty standard.

The fact that they are treating their employers like shit is bad enough, but giving them obscure email address and bad referees so that the employee might have a hard time trying to find other places to work for is pretty shitty if you ask me.

pretending to enjoy going to clubs.
shitty music, douchey bros, overpriced drinks, and I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that it’s perfectly okay that I don’t dance.
do. not. dance.
