The way the second amendment has been interpreted by our court system pretty much precludes such a thing ever happening within the United States. A key bit of context here is privilege versus right. Ownership in New Zealand is a privilege; ownership in the United States is protected by our Constitution.

All joking aside, Trump has nothing against single-payer. During the campaign he even floated single-payer as a potential option for his vision of healthcare reform in the United States.

I reject your correction on a simple premise that we probably both share. Any ironclad evidence that were significant enough to compel the GOP Senate to take action would by its very nature provide the political motivation you insist they need.

I agree with Pelosi... for now.

I find myself in a weird place with respect to Bernie. In 2016 I was a huge fan of his politics and deeply wanted him to win the DNC nomination. I was disappointed when Hillary won but pivoted to support her because I mean who the fuck really ever thought Trump was a good idea.

I think he looks absolutely regal, especially in the photo Piers Morgan shared to mock Porter. Just look at him standing there, hands folded and face neutral but strong - the living portrait of “monarchy”.

This is exactly how I feel. I also voted for Sanders in the primaries and wholeheartedly wanted him to win. But I also don’t want anyone almost 80-years old being sworn in as President of the United States.

While I feel bad for anyone at Blizzard who gets laid off because of this I cannot say it comes as a surprise. Blizzard has produced some of my favorite titles... but they take way too long to get those titles to market.

I think the biggest hurdle for this call is convincing enough of those employees that violating the Federal Service Labor-Management Relations Statute will be beneficial in the long run.

To stay on the plan my husband and I shared last year our premium (after subsidy) would have gone up from $501/m (Silver plan) to $683.

That’s kind of my point? The GOP is trying to portray Democrats as favoring open borders when we don’t.  We just (tend to) favor immigration reform that make the process easier.

I don’t see illegal immigration as serious of a problem as unrestricted border crossings in general (though I’m definitely guilty of conflating the two in my original comment). Designated points of entry provide opportunities to perform reasonable security checks.

I mean I’m not necessarily opposed to eliminating borders entirely... but it seems a little fanciful right now what with all these countries with their own currencies, laws, governments, culture... and a deep-seated desire to continue as such.

Fucking worthless chuds, the lot of you.

As a Democrat my problem with building a wall has nothing to do with morality or a fervent belief in open borders. I’m actually all for strengthening our border security and ensuring that we take necessary steps to reduce the number of people entering the country without credentials.

I find this neither unsettling nor a significant privacy concern. If I am engaging in communication with customer support I probably want them to have an answer to my problem immediately. It’s not as though they are tracking any information I post outside that window. They cannot hear what I’m saying, they cannot

We were told that? I vaguely recall that writers were given stronger control over what comments left the grays and I assumed that it was specifically to stamp out criticism...

I wish Gawker would adopt stronger editorial policies when it comes to their use of hyperbolic headlines. This article discusses a single appointment to a Witmer’s transition team.

I understand your perspective here but I would argue that the minor headline modification (they added the word ‘Remaining’) adds a level of clarity that removes any possibility of misinterpreting.

I was thinking that too... 75% is misleading. We have three secondary storyline DLCs already released (Episodes Gladiolus, Prompto, and Ignis) with Episode Ardyn still being released.
