Well yeah it’s unlikely AF that a kid that young would use it at the right time, but that’s not quite the point I’m making.

Alternatively; it’s designed to be so simple to access that a 1.5-year old could activate it, notify emergency services, and potentially save your life.

Setting aside the potential benefits such a layout might offer; its design looks weird and it makes me uncomfortable.

You make it sound as though Apple stood alone in this process. And yet...

This might be at least a semi-valid defense if it weren’t for PewDiePie’s history of using slurs. Exactly how many passes is this guy gonna get before people realize that at best he’s an asshole and at worst he’s a racist asshole.

I like to think of the X as an expensive beta opt-in. The next few iterations will help Apple improve their construction and bring costs down and (hopefully) find a way to re-introduce Touch ID.

In what reality is that an even remotely accurate comparison?

I have a few thoughts.

And I’m sure you’re aware that these words are not, of and by their own, considered racial slurs. They were being used as a way to covertly discuss persons of color in a racial context.

And to add to this - whether PewDiePie was using the word “because he wanted to seem edgy” or because he’s a weekend Klanner is irrelevant. He’s racist because he knowingly used a word that he knows is a racial slur, in full knowledge of the meaning and impact of that word.

It shouldn’t be used at all, the whole “black people are reclaiming the word” thing is BS. It spreads its usage so it’ll never die.

are black people being racist or hateful when they say nigger, knowing it’s a racial slur?

Again, screaming nigger doesn’t make you a racist any more than screaming bitch makes you a sexist.

Even this would be a contextually-understandable argument for why he even uttered the word at all. But, given his immediate response of “I did not mean that in a bad way” we clearly understand that he does get it.

Let me see if I understand your logic.

This has been the ‘default’ for decades.

Let’s dissect this for a moment.

No I get that... I’m just saying that his premise for why that needs to be done is stupid.

I think the observation connecting this patch to an expansion is spot on. I took a brief hiatus during 7.2 and jumped into 7.3 to see what was going on...

Yes... in a move that should shock absolutely no one... Bezos, like every other CEO associated to a business that produces television series, wants a TV series with the same broad-audience success as Game of Thrones.
