All three main female parts in Shoes were fantastic but Shirley reminded me so much of my maternal grandmother in speech patterns and gestures I felt haunted watching it.

Being John Malcovich. But she really deserved a nomination for In Her Shoes.

I adore In Her Shoes. It’s such a terrific movie and passes the Bechdel test with flying colors. She and Toni Collette are so believable as the sisters that share a bond nobody else can understand but are such different people.

Whenever I see Bad Teacher in the channels list I stop what I’m doing and watch it, and I’m not a frequent movie watcher. She’s so hilarious in it!

Probably not for Bono.

Especially Shirley MacLaine’s performance. Her later career has been dominated by Aurora Greenway types, and they’ve been good but it’s nice to see the full extent of her range now and again.

I love In Her Shoes. I’m the Collette, definitely not the Diaz. After the movie I entertained the thought of ditching being a lawyer and walking dogs. Turns out you have to walk a lot of dogs to make up a lawyer’s salary, but a girl can dream.

In Her Shoes is a great movie and it makes me cry every time.

I’ve encountered so many”recovering Catholics” with the same experiences. AA is full of them!

With all due respect to the second Aunt Viv, this is just one example of how Janet Hubert is the best Aunt Viv.

Chills! LOVE Uncle Phil. And original Viv for the win!!!

Honestly, I think it is human nature and I am pretty there are studies about why partners tend to look like each other. For a brief time I volunteered at a birthing center and I helped with the weekly classes for one group. At the time I commented to my family that I could take a picture of every person and have

No problem! In fact, I have been a domestic worker (apartment cleaner, nanny, day care...) and may be again before it’s all over. But this video is about not boxing WOC (black women specifically) into stereotypical roles like Mammy (which is represented as domestic workers) and Jezebel (sex workers and women with

For the Paul Newman fan, check out the documentary called “Winning: The Racing Life of Paul Newman”. It highlights his racing career.

Did Firth bought his wife a diary?

Although not discussed as much, this is yet another reason why representation matters.

While we are doing reboots and remakes, why has no one thought to do an updated Imitation of Life?
