This is the First Lady who had to endure people saying she looked like an ape, that her daughters looked like apes. She was witness to the same country that elected her husband becoming the same country that would elect Trump. It wasn’t all one sunny, chatty Ellen appearance for 8 years. That’s what this portrait

It is great! (And I mean that). This discussion will come up again and again as MeToo carries on - with Tarantino just recently, with Cosby years ago - e.g. “Can I bear to partake in the art that this POS man produced, knowing what I know now? Is it ethical?”

We should focus our WA-related outrage miles on blasting those who defend him and/or say Dylan is lying. If there is any outrage left over, spend it giving side eye to people tripping themselves to work with him (which will hopefully be less and less). Anything else, is just overkill. Like I said before, I think he is

Just the act of selecting this headline to report on the interview (which is loaded with seeds for insightful discussion on sexuality and agency, it’s not like this is the most interesting thing about it) is presented as judgmental in the context of the website’s general editorial choices.

I agree on Michelle - and I think what people are picking up on as “that doesn’t look like her” is that there is a trace of pain in her face. The visuals we’re used to of Michelle are expansive warmth and poise. This is steely grace. She is not yours, and was never yours. There isn’t a smile in sight.

If it didn’t make you mad, you successfully eschewed the intent of the writer!

The issue is that Jezebel, on a slow day, has decided to use the tired old “Hey I’m gonna make you mad at one of your legitimate heroes who has said something imperfect!” gimmick for clickbait.

Ugh. This is Jez at its worst, seriously.

Then how do they explain how much I love music from 30+ years ago? Or how much my 8-year-old loves the Cure and the Cranberries?

Otherwise known as my FB feed.

LOL at a corner shop in SoHo. Guess I was swindled!

She wishes.

A box of name-brand tampons ran me £5.99 last year in the UK. I think it had 5 in them? So £13 sounds right, maybe conservative even.

I feel embarrassed that I didn’t know this until now.

I have 1 child. I struggled/continue to struggle with the same thoughts. What helped me, of all things, was something I read in a dog-eared Dr. Sears book from, like, the ‘70s. Yes, I know they are anti-vaxxing assholes. They were justifying why they had 5-6 kids or whatever. “The world needs my children.”

For my selfish entertainment purposes, I really wish he would try to have a go at the UK every day! You lot hang him to dry and fold him up with no hand-wringing or think-piecing about it.

I loved that the BBC figured out it was because “Fox and Friends” brought up the NHS in a segment he had seen! I laughed and laughed when I read that, presented matter-of-factly.

Shit. I’m sorry.

12-year-old me is FREAKING THE FUCK OUT <3

Good for you. Much like I’ve stopped reading comment sections on any FB post, I just don’t want to subject myself to something non-essential that I know will enrage/nauseate me. We can read the (good) write-ups about it instead.
