Robert Aldrich, such an underrated visionary, Raoul Walsh, such a canonical then for some reason forgotten visionary as well. These guys enjoyed storytelling and it showed.

Sorry, the perfect recreation of the Carrero Blanco bomb in Gillo Pontecorvo’s “Ogro” should be here.

For what it’s worth, your DVDs will rot in time anyway!

It’s this production interpretation of the Dune lore, which at times I wonder if it has not been traditionally too similar to the Dino de Laurentiis baroque excesses on the Lynch one. I really like it.

yeah I was a Villeneuve cynical (because his So Much Style school ties with Look At Those Perfectly Framed Shots From Kubrick tiring school) but after the double wham of BR2049 and Dune I just dropped my underwear to the floor and said my body is ready. What a guy, and what a team he always gathers.

there is one good point about prebuilt debate: when you build it you know the components you are getting, meaning that many of the pre built computers have cheap PSU or hidden cheap components that are never described anywhere when you buy the device.

No, really, there is quite a bunch of people who think that any modification to a game is being a traitor to the ART of the video game design. One friend low key hated me when he saw me playing the RE4 first port with ultra wide, mouse aiming and more FOV. “But... how can you do this? The game IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE

countercounterpoint: we are living in 2023. 100 fps, 120fps and 240 fps May be a tiny minority but 60 definitely isn't.

it is perfectly playable, but we should have the option of 60 fps for those 3d games without it falling apart with glitches.

As a pc gamer since 1991 I don’t care about many of these affirmation or questions, and I even agree with some of them generally - others depend on the context. Couch gaming is disappearing all around and Sonic Allstars Racing Transformed is the only one which I play for that reason.

Two things:

yeah, some may say

You do these listicles really good but I miss the guy who wrote those Milli Vanilli entries in allmusic :(

I imagine it’s a pretty rare occurrence considering I’ve never actually seen any instances of it”

it struck me today: it’s exactly the same phenomenon as The West Wing, where if you did not like the show then you were not liberal, democrat etc. Ted Lasso has becoming that kind of show that is part of what you should do and you should like if you consider yourself as part of some political ideology.

also, it was the rare moment for Rebecca being something else than a romcom character.

It’s totally the opposite. Not liking the show was ok, or disliking using tropes as cringey as the journos face edits during Roy’s speech. It is you, the show believers, the ones who identify liking this show to being a hopeful person, a good person, a democrat, and who take any criticism of the tone as an ethical

Not being the biggest Wes Anderson fan around (I was one of the few who left the cinema very cold on his FIRST films) I say: leave the guy alone. He has a point of view and he is honest with it. Not talking to you dear reviewer but to some other guys here.

Most of the anime I have seen have a very detailed depiction of food - I recall salivating during several spots in Summer Wars and episodes in Psycho Pass - but let me go with the classics and wish I could enjoy the dinner in Babette’s Feast.

Never understood the canonical north american hate to Joel Schumacher, will never do. Personally I cannot wait to see what this is about.
