It's been awhile, but if I recall correctly instinctively bursting into flames and flying were pretty much where he started in the comics, too. It took a little while for him to learn how to do everything else.

The power list on DC's wiki runs about half a page, including things like Eidetic Memory and Enhanced vision. Basically, he's incredibly powerful, and the flames are more a reflection of his power over the movement of atoms then anything to do with flames, per se.
