I'm on the record as preferring them to the original trilogy. Primarily because I've never liked the original trilogy very much (not hating, they're just not my thing so I find myself dozing off on movie nights), but there's a decent love story and some interesting Jedi backstory in there.

Yes, the guy that became a door is way weirder. Total nightmare fuel.

The difference lies in the starting point.

Dude's well into his 40s. Not sure how much aging is really needed at that point?

She's been on the rumor list for the role for at least a week. Probably longer, but that's when I first heard it.

If we're counting animals, there's Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH. The book, which doesn't include any mystical crap, counts as science fiction.

THANK YOU. I've wanted to reread that for years, but couldn't remember the title or author.

It might be the kind of movies he does? He's been in a lot of movies that have done pretty well, financially and critically, but relatively few of them have been big budget blockbusters. Movies like Dallas Buyers Club.

Whoa, hold up. Those are both great actresses, but there is zero reason to replace a fat WOC with a thin white woman. There are plenty of great black actresses to choose from.

The automobile, albeit almost all as hybrids or fully electric as oil reserves continue to dwindle. (Collectors being collectors, there will always be a demand for a small number of very expensive gasoline vehicles.)

To be clear, I am not saying that you are any obligation to care about an issue you don't care about, especially since it's not one that directly effects you.

1. You are effected. You said yourself that you have a wife and sister, and since you cared enough to mention them, then you presumably don't want them treated badly.

Actually, I'm (not very effectively, but I wasn't trying very hard - it's been a long day) making fun of what you said, because I don't think you noticed at all what a shit thing it was to say. I have no problem with the concept of choosing one cause to throw your time, money, and emotional dealing-ness at. I agree

*psst* I'll let you know a secret. It's actually possible to be 100% against racism and 100% against sexism at the same time! An equal amount!

Tradition. Adult women have almost always played Peter in the stage productions. From a distance they can pass as a young boy, and unlike most actual young boys they have the singing and acting experience to carry off the lead role of a two hour nightly show.

It happens. Sorry I got snippy earlier, I've been a bit snide in general today due to completely non-Internet related reasons.

Yes. I get tired of people complaining about these sort of businesses, because as long as you're paying any attention at all you'll know exactly what you're getting into, and more importantly, why.

Approximately now. The prologue (~55 pages) covers the first few weeks or so of the apocalyptic events in the modern day, and then Chapter 1 picks back up in Year 90.

*sigh*

Yes, it wasn't made 100% clear at first, but the Troubled are now explicitly cursed. Of course, being Stephen King, this is the kind of "magic curse" that has less to do with magical spells and more to do with mysterious superpowered extra-dimensional beings, and comes with genetic markers, so YMMV.
