He’s not giving it up, even though he clearly should. He’s still a total Tesla stan and going to keep driving that junker and dealing with the inevitable breakdowns until the end of time.

“Fanboy finally criticizes Tesla”
Like a old man after eating nothing but beans all day.
Ozzyman just did a great video taking the piss out of Cybertruck and all their fails. The best part is at 1:30 where he says at this point Fords could make a 30 second ad of Ford trucks saving Cybertrucks and he’s 100% right.
Anyone have a list of known issues? I’ve lost track.
great movie. Ryan Gosling really plays the reluctant hard luck guy well.
I didn’t know Maryland was considered the south. I would never have guessed that.
I agree. When I first saw one I thought “oh god they just made a bloated Model 3!” It;’s a Model 3 that needs a diet. And the Model 3 general design is just a stubby Model S.
Even if you take aside the car, how much it costs, how much she makes, and everything else. you have to consider the language used here. Do you think you would ever find yourself seriously starting a sentence with “my wife wouldsn’t let me buy...”? Or would it be something more like, “after we discussed it...” or “we…
I am, and I am the sole earner of my family, and I wouldn’t even tell my wife flat-out she couldn’t have something reasonable. I would never start a sentence with “my wife wouldn’t let me buy...” and neither would she about me.
My mother started making comments about my car catching fire or blowing up when I told her I got an EV, but I park outside anyway.
I didn’t say collision.
The metaphor only makes sense if it’s even remotely accurate, which yours is not.
Taste in cars aside, she made her own money and could comfortably afford it. What reason does a spouse have to deny it? Also, would you be totally cool with your spouse handing you a flat “no” if you wanted to buy a car your prefer and are well within the financial means to do so?
I wonder if the insurance company would have accepted the claim without video proof. Imagine the conversation with the adjuster:
I think the bigger concern is where the fires start. I only assume it’s pretty rare and ICE car bursts into flame while parked in a garage unattended, but that is where it’s more likely that an EV will catch fire and take your house with it.
Honestly when I see these stats of 300-400 mile range EVS that are charging 10-80% in 10-20 minutes, it really freaks me out. That is a lot of energy being moved very fast. It’s not surprising if they burst into flames.
It would interesting to know your ratio of salary to car purchase price. Not going to ask because I don’t really believe what people tell me on the internet, but you can calculate your own against what hers was that doesn’t even include what her husband’s pay was since we don’t know it.
““You should be able to let loose in a bar where Big Brother isn’t watching you”
Surely it’s not that bad.
