@n3onkn1ght: The dork in me remembers it being a sort of electric arc, not a blaster.
R2 has a blaster in his head?
@Trez: The better to see you with!
@ShadowStaarr: Thank you.
The braille says, "A little more to the left".
@Dracoster: It was an automated sentinel of sorts (seeing that 2001: ASO was expanded from Clarke's short story "The Sentinel," this makes perfect sense).
@acidrain69: You can buy them, but you coupld print your own hella eazy.
Ain't got nothing on the Hotelicopter!
That's no blimp! It's a...helicopter!
@mjollnir11: Honestly, I set myself a 3 minute limit for this little mashup, and there were no rear views of x-wings with the s-foils open in the first page of GIS results. So i made do.
@smegz: To be fair, those were "Graboids".

@PR-0927: Huh, no. Left LEC in '97. Last SW game I worked on was in '99 (while at TG).
@bainelaker: I did work for Larry Holland at TG for 6 years, but sadly just missed working on TIE Fighter. Joined for XWA and a few games after that.
Okay I've worked on a half dozen Star Wars video games, and have become somewhat of a hater since the prequels, but that Han Solo shot with the X-Wing? Amazing! Also, Phil Tippett (my old employer) FTW!
