If “GIF” is pronounced “jiff” then “JPG” should be “gaypejj”
Brick to the Future!
I wonder whether Delta and Omicron could have been completely bypassed if people hadn’t given up on precautions too early. The more people have COVID, the easier it is to catch and the greater the chance it has to mutate. If people had gotten their vaccinations, worn their damn masks, skipped going to superspreader…
I don’t know whether I have summer SAD, or if it’s just that the combination of heat and bright direct sunlight are some kind of anxiety trigger for me. I get twitchy and feel like I need to escape. Heat + humidity together can be unpleasant, and I hate trying to sleep when it’s too hot, but throw sunlight in there…
I don’t even think the combat in Lost Ark is that great, it’s just the least meh thing about it.
I uninstalled it, reinstalled Diablo III, and that has been fun-ish for a week or so. But I’m kinda thinking I’ll just go back to Guild Wars 2, level one of each class, and uninstall it again as seems to be a yearly habit.
That name goes from suck to blow.
Seems to me it doesn’t follow that if you keep doing this for more than 2 weeks you keep losing the same amount of weight in a linear progression. I mean, eventually you’d die if that were the case. So there’s some kind of tapering off effect, and I would also guess it happens sooner rather than later. It’s a shame…
A couple of years ago we had big Christmas bonuses for once, so I bought myself a G29 for Dirt Rally 2.0. My times tanked dramatically. It’s an adrenaline rush and kind of a workout, but that game is SO much easier with an XBox controller, which is the opposite of what I had expected and hoped. Mostly my G29 gathers…
I make weird music that appeals to fellow weird nerds. I spend almost zero effort on promotion or social media and I don’t do live shows or merch or anything.
For two years I had a DistroKid account (which publishes unlimited amounts of your music on a whole bunch of streaming services for a $20/year fee) as well as…
It’s not like diehard conspiracy theorists who already believe the bullshit are likely to have their minds changed, but spreading the correct information more widely is kind of like a vaccine against misinformation/disinformation.
Yep, same prediction from me. Half-assed internet + need for enormous piles of killer hardware in data centers + Google’s history of starting and then dropping weird projects = doom.
I’m really not that big into cars, and I haven’t owned a Playstation since the PS2, but I really loved Gran Turismo back in the day. (...except for those license tests.)
I wish there were PC ports.
I was going to say, the GMail I am using right now looks cleaner than both of these, and the newer version just like it adds more crap to the old one. But I might have uBlock Origin killing off pieces of the GMail interface that I don’t need.
I didn’t do the Kickstarter thing, I bought from Amazon.
Searching my email, I see Sanderson’s newsletter from November 2020 that announced Rhythm of War’s release day also mentioned Dawnshard. I had already preordered RoW, but hurriedly bought Dawnshard and read it first.
I read Dawnshard in November 2020, in ebook form. It is just now getting a dead tree format release or something?
I read All of the Marvels and have contemplated watching the X-Men animated series and reading Unbeatable Squirrel Girl and Ms. Marvel.
Started reading Dune, which somehow I’ve avoided up until now, and it’s a mixed bag. Both the ideas and the craft of writing have high points and low points. I’m not sure I like any of…
Right? They have all this data and I’m not sure it’s actually useful. I don’t think I’ve ever bought something based on their recommendations.
Coco, for sure.
Thurl Ravenscroft is a high bar to clear.
