Yup! And it gives her a “Remember how I let you see Pearl Jam?” to passive-aggressively throw at him. Not that I do that...

“Go on reddit..”
Right, because Reddit is really a barometer to the potential audience and not just an echo chamber to the loudest and most militant fans.
It couldn’t be that Star Wars just isn’t able to sustain a large amount of spin-offs, or that Disney set their expectations too high, or that it came on the tail of Infinity War, or…
My dude, if Reddit mattered, Warcraft would’ve been the biggest movie of 2016.
So you think angry Reddit commenters are a reliable sample of the rest of the world. That’s kind of a scary idea.
The Last Jedi was a massive commercial and critical success which was aimed at general audiences, not “Core fans” (who are too small a group to ever justify a $300 million budget.)
Go on reddit and look at any thread about Solo
I liked The Last Jedi overall, but I think there’s real Star Wars fatigue from this relentless production of all these sequels and spinoffs. A movie being good is not sufficient to its success. Timing plays a big factor and people may need a break. Don’t wear out your welcome.
For me, Han Solo is clearly Harrison Ford, not this new guy. I don’t know if I actually like Han Solo as a character, but I know I like Harrison Ford. I also know that I suck as a human being, I’ve known it for a long, long time now, but I just didn’t want to sit through two hours of some dude pretending he could be…
Pretty sure it failed because it was a bad idea with a lot of very public production issues that didn’t even get a trailer until 3 months before release but maybe it’s the other thing, sure.
honestly maybe I’m just a terrible mom but SAME SAME HARD SAME.
Counterpoint: Compared to the flaming garbage I see on the rest of the internet every day this discussion struck me as downright charming, actually. These guys are far from “the worst” and in fact seem perfectly fine.
You know you like Pearl Jam, but you don’t know if you’ll even like the kid.
My neighborhood Facebook page is filled with paranoid white people. If someone farts wrong, that merits a neighborhood warning. I guarantee there will be an unfortunate interaction with a black person that's going to make CNN.
Hot Take: I kinda like it? Well, I wouldn’t hang it on my wall, but it’s a pretty fun drawing with a lot of energy. At least it’s not boring. If an art student did this I’d encourage them to keep drawing.
Well... I mean... It’s the thought that counts, right?
Every once in a while I consider joining Nextdoor or getting on the neighborhood list serv to meet new neighbors and get to know them better. Then I read something like this and remember that I'm fine with a head nod when we're bringing the garbage cans in together being the extent of our relationship.
Eh - Art is art and entirely subjective. So what if it’s not good. It seems Jim Carrey is using this as more of a therapeutic substitute from his Hollywood career, so all power to him. It’s not harming anyone except the egos of those who think they can understand “art”. He probably whipped this up in like an hour as…
“DADDDDYYYYYY DIDNT GIVE ATTENTIOONNNNNNN”
The last question is the most important one.
