Well both of those are bigger cities(implying higher property values), and I wouldn’t want to live around college students as an adult either.
As I’ve said above, WSJ just ranked is as the #3 public university. Reputation damage hasn’t really materialized yet. While this makes us look pretty dumb, 99% of UNC is still very challenging.
Why wouldn’t you be celebrating? As a student, I’d much rather watch basketball than riot in the streets. This isn’t a particularly bad(students still had to do actual work) in comparison to Chair Stacking 101 at Tennessee.

WSJ just ranked us as the 3rd best public school and 30th overall. If that’s how far we fall than so be it. As far as employers, if they really don’t want to hire thousands of qualified candidates over an isolated incident that’s their prerogative. My experience with campus recruiting suggests that’s not the case.
That’s why they didn’t punish us. When more of these scandal start to come out, they would have to punish everyone based on the precedent they set for themselves.
As established by our wonderful legal team, it is merely “an irregularity.” So at best we are an irregularity. I also don’t think that this is a particularly big deal.
Someone has to take them to balance out the AFAM student/athlete ratio to make sure we can keep winning championships.
