Ok, I dread asking for fear of the blowback I risk, but is The Gone World a good novel or just a good science fiction novel? I keep trying to rekindle my childhood love for science fiction and but running up on the problem that most of it is mediocre to bad writing. 

Right! And to be clear, I still buy and listen to every damn thing they release and am looking forward to their headlining gig at Hopscotch this fall. But IYFS is one for the ages.

And, of course, despoil the environment, sabotage our health care system, empoverish our cultural milieu, and put little children in cages. 

“Hollow fuckstumbles” is an outstanding term! I am immediately adding fuckstumble to my vocabulary, with hollow as the preferred modifier.
