I like the writeup, and I’m seeing the arguments I expected to see in the comments as well as some other comments that aren’t arguments (sure, they’re there.)

the fact that most people who buy trucks don’t need them

I wonder how much happier people would be if they stopped concerning themselves with other people’s wallets and choices.

Did you read the article or just skip it to post that?

A truck, to their detractors, stands as a shorthand for “making America great again”

I personally find it hilarious that, on any given day, I can be sneered “for destroying the planet” (an actual note on my Tundra in my previous neighborhood), followed almost immediately by “your EV is stupid and you’re a hippie” when I run errands in the eGolf.

I’ve always found it weird that people concern themselves with what other people are buying. I have a truck. It’s really no one’s business other than my own as to why I have a truck. I don’t need to justify it to anyone else. These same questions never get asked of people with sports cars or people with motorcycles.

I had that exact Mazda 5! It was the car I learned to drive stick on, and it has a shocking amount of space for it’s size. I once crammed 6 people in it for a road trip around the entire U.S. (with a roof box). I even managed to overland it to the rim of the Grand Canyon.

Jeep Grand Grocery Getter.

can you get that brown leather on the Lincoln? To me thats always been the draw on King Ranch, its a damn good looking interior package.

As a current Explorer owner, I would love to meet the customers that “demanded a King Ranch version” that could just jump to the better refined (and better looking in my opinion) Aviator.

it is metallic though

I miss my ‘03 ZHP E46 every time I see an E46 either in ZHP or M3 guise from that era (I believe they re-intro’d the M3 for MY2004?), I miss it ... right up until I remember the goddamned mechanical nightmare it was for 100k miles before my mechanic discovered that the VANOS unit was flawed - most likely from the

It’s such a one-dimensional, narrowminded, troglodytic notion of car enthusiasm too. Mashing the ‘Go pedal’ and going fast isn’t the only way to appreciate cars.

Yup, here these idiots both are, neither with anything useful to add to the world, but both with a platform to deride people for not experiencing life in the way they think they should. Just look at this writer’s credentials. Either they’re stupid, or full of shit.

5G tires sound like expensive overkill when a local WiFi network would transmit data to the car just as well. Another way to raise tire prices?

I’ve seen this boy come up from carts and Formula Ford here in Western Australia, he really is one of the most infectiously likable guys.

Im French and I hate Prost. I vomit everytime I see his face in the F1 paddock.

so what I hear you sating is you are not capable of driving. Got it.
