How much does Apple have to pay to maintain the existence of the app store? They pay developers, storage, servers, etc. That’s what the 30% pays for. No one says it’s unfair competition when Macy’s sells its own brands in its stores alongside other brands or when you go to an REI store and there is REI gear sold right

Um ... this is literally competition. There’s nothing Apple is doing in this particular instance to leverage their control of the Apple Store or iOS to their advantage. ALL of the bundled apps are already sold separately for a price; they’re less when sold as a bundle. This is absolutely no different than any other

I don’t see a problem. Every one of Apple’s apps are a crappier version of another app you can already get. For people that think they’re actually ok, they’ll save some money. For people that don’t, they’ll keep using Peloton, Spotify, Netflix, etc.

Perhaps you get what you pay for? Base 540i is $59K, while the base CT5-V is $48K.  (edited for incorrect BMW price on initial post)

There is something about the way this car looks from the side that elicits a pleasing response from me. I’m not saying it is pretty, but I like it. Perhaps it is the black door trim that gives the impression that the pillars are thinner than they really are. In a sea of cars that feel like you’re sitting in a bunker,

Except in sales, but that’s ok

Up until a few years ago, I was pretty set on not liking Hamilton because he didn’t get across the best impression when he came into F1. I saw him as a bit of a bratty whiner that could drive the wheels off of the car but couldn’t handle things not quite going his way.

Honestly, this is the first dual/folding screen that looks interesting to me.  But at $1,400 and no NFC does kind of stop me (I use NFC for my Yubikeys often). Also, this feels like one of those “wait until a few generations for them to work the bugs out” kind of product.  I hope it does well enough Microsoft

Same. Test mules made me think it was going to look too extreme, but I actually really like how it’s toned-down compared to the competition. It will age nicely.

I must be the only person around that adores this car. It’s beautiful and a HUGE turn around for Maserati as of late. I haven’t lusted after a Maser in decades, and never thought I would again... but here we are.

Thank Larry Chen for those. He can make any car look that good. One of the best photogs in the business IMHO

Here’s how we REALLY stop these calls. So many of them are an attempt to defraud people out of their money. An attempt to cause broad financial harm to a country could be considered an act of war. Therefore, the foreign call centers that are making these fraudulent calls are declaring war on the United States and will

I agree.  The problem is that people are dumb or willfully ignorant. They complain when a platform grows ‘old’ but then bitch when features or options die with new platforms. It’s as if people don’t underestand how resource intensive it is to develop a new complex product from scratch.

Never understood the problem with evolutionary design changes. take what works, and fix the rest, seems like a sound methodology when heavily reworking a chassis. I imagine at some point you reach a point of no further refinement or a major change in drive-train occurs, but keeping a good thing and improving it is not

Try judging that competition.

You know how airlines operate these days. They overbook a plane, and then with 350 guys in ski masks and kevlar show up at the gate they get on the PA and ask if anybody would be willing to take a later flight in exchange to be bumped up to Comfort+ Plus.

I’m just not convinced by any of the arguments presented here. This product seems mostly neutral and the problems the article brings up are things each individual user is responsible for. Some people might misuse this and hurt themselves (or the app hurts them depending on your interpretation) but that’s the same for

Maybe because if it doesn’t swivel, then that means someone on the assembly line has to aim it.

That Kimberly Guilfoyle...I felt like it was 1994 and I was having breakfast with my son and waiting on the Green Ranger to come and stop that shit.

That decor...it’s like a cross between a Nazi rally and a bingo hall. I guess they couldn’t spring for the expensive flags for Donny Jr. but went with the Chinese knock-offs.
