The handling is related to the size, the current 3 handles like an older 5 because it is the same size. BMW still gets handling right, it is just that the cars are in the next size bracket now. The 1 is about the size of an E46 and handles very similarly.

This is really a case of the car doing what they wanted, just not what we want.  We are in a time where there really great GT car options, but few great sports car options.  GT cars have become able to do most of the sports car stuff so most people are OK with having a nicer car that does the sports car stuff slightly

These things are like super cars, people buy them to be seen in them not to actually use the performance (with some exceptions to the rule). Mainly because there are so few places to actually use the performance. So most of the time you are left with an overly wide truck taking up too much space in the parking lot.

You are uninvited to Tetris Night :)

A friend has the hybrid of this and I have multiple times tried to get into someone else car after lunch because there were multiple in the parking lot.

I told my wife one day that in Montana trucks outnumber cars. She was like no way. 2 days later my count was trucks were 52% of all vehicles seen. If you remove Subarus it gets really ugly for cars in Montana. SUVs were not included.

I really hope the designers included some Easter eggs on this. Maybe a huge mural on the backside of the hood showing one of these giving it to a Jeep doggie style.

Exactly, you could haul a ton of sand or matchbox cars, BUT if you take this thing to Ikea you are 100% going to be pissed off when half the boxes that would fit inside have no way of getting inside.

No people bought them then realized the trunk opening is a 2mm square that is approximately 10 feet in the air. It has the worst hatchback design of all time :(

I like these and don’t care what they call it. The power level is in the acceptable range. I actually like the profile and the c pillar.

Good for Lewis. I see Lewis as the LeBron of F1. He is a generational talent that is minimized due to his sport changing during his generation. Either could be included in the best ever conversation, but the argument is they are playing a different game and wouldn’t be a stand out in other eras.

The thing people never tell you is speed is fun... until it becomes normal. Then you are just left wanting more. BUT engagement lasts forever. That is why Miatas are popular, they are very engaging to drive. You get joy from driving them at normal speeds.

I would also like to say that if you didn’t “invest” in constant changes you wouldn’t need quite as many ads and you could pay the writers, who are the reason we come here, more.

FYI if you do not like the new view just save this url: https://jalopnik.com/latest It is the closest thing to the current. I did this for Gizmodo and it made life tolerable.

I 1,000% understand your situation. I had the same thing with a WRX. It was an interesting car, but only enjoyable when you were beating the hell out of it. One day driving home from work I was doing around 100 in traffic and realized the car was going to kill me.

Click link with 75% interest. See photo with Larry Chin under it and my interest hits infinity. Great story with amazing photos. There are few things more disappointing than knowing you have the machine and the skill to do something and to not be able to do it.

Better than calling it the Z00?

2 things:

These are pretty sharp looking. I am sure when there are more of them it will dilute, but I saw a couple the other day and thought they were very good looking.

I could not agree more. Tinting safety equipment is one of those things that is a red flag when I am driving and see it. If you cover your lights with a tint film I am giving you extra space.
