There is a guy doing similar things to a Fiero.  The nice thing about the Fiero was it was designed to have a big V6 so there is tons of space to work with and the rear subframe drops right out making it easy to work on it.

Username checks out.  I completely agree with what you said.  Please buy a couple of these so there are more in 10 years when I want to convert one to a track toy.  

Here is my take on this car. When the first one came out it was different from what everybody was offering. This one is the same as what everybody is offering. For the NSX to truly follow the history of it’s predecessor it would be different from the others to fill a hole in the marketplace.

Maybe some day this thing will make it far enough to attend. (I’m amazed at how well this car photographs, it is much rougher than it looks here)

The silver lining is the parts are so common that you can get them at any parts store.  

But most of those used their own suspension parts :) The Fiero just bolted the whole sub frames of the Citation and Chevette.  I think the X1/9 did the same for the rear but had it’s own front suspension and the MR2 used an existing drivetrain, but had all bespoke suspension.

Not a bad idea, the Fiero had a Citation front end installed in the rear.  Not all of them caught on fire :)
