The only way to meet car people is to go to car events. The first half dozen autoXs I went to I didn’t drive myself, but I met lifelong friends there who helped me learn the craft of racing. Even if you can’t fix it the beauty of going to a car event is there are car people there who can help you. Half of what I know…
The bigger question is what size bolts are they? If they are all the same I am more OK with it than if there are multiple sized bolts holding the engine cover and drain plugs. Guessing there are no 2 bolts the same and all require a Bugatti specific set of sockets.
They are so much fun, but after a while it gets tiresome. I had a 1st gen (2005 non-S) that I loved. When the second gen cars came out I remember people having nothing but trouble and after driving one it was underwhelming compared to the first gen cars. Adding a little power to a momentum car just isn’t that…
I would say that is legit for rallyX, but AutoX is typically pretty easy on cars unless they are modified. In my 20 years of autoXing I have seen 2 unmodified cars have issues both were hoses that were easily fixed. Once you start modifying cars then they tend to break in all kinds of ways.
I am always amazed at how intimidating people find autoX or rallyX. These are great events typically filled with people who love to teach the craft of racing to others. Your car doesn’t matter, your skill level doesn’t matter, all that matters is your attitude.
This is my new favorite response to people complaining about free shit. I wish I could give you all the stars.
A car so perfect they chop $5,000 off the price! https://jalopnik.com/you-can-get-up-to-5-000-off-a-wonderful-lexus-lc-coupe-1827622551
I was completely serious. Over the years I have had women ask me when riding in cars with a harness where the straps should go. My answer has always been wherever you can get the straps tightest. Everytime I had to explain that I wondered if any of the harness companies ever considered women when designing harnesses.…
You are correct and the bigger issue is the US loves to buy cheap shit that we don’t make so if ever there was a country that should be trying to lower tariffs it should be us. Instead we are asking our economy to go back in time based on some nutjob’s ideas that we are only great if we make the garbage we buy.
Stef the video highlights something that has bothered me for years. Harnesses and boobies have trouble with each other. Do you use the harness to keep them separated or do you squash them together or do you push them together? Maybe the harness companies need to make lady specific harnesses to protect the boobies.
Plus 1 on the fenders. They made a new car with all carbon panels then they tacked on some arch extensions? Just doesn’t look right to me.
I guess I got lucky finding a 4 year old loaded truck for less than a new stripper.
I always wondered if the sticker price has some relation to fleet sales. If a fleet buys 100 trucks and get a 10% discount off sticker do the car makers just inflate the sticker so the fleets are paying more? Then discount even more for the general public. When I was looking at trucks the salesperson told me to ignore…
Maybe you don’t live in a city. When I lived in a city I rarely went over 12,000 miles a year. Now I live in Montana and 20,000 a year will be light for me.
Unless that Suburban has more people in it. It was more efficient for us to drive 1,000 miles in 1 Suburban with 6 people in it than it would have been to drive with 4 people in one car and 2 in another car.
Buick Riviera??? Ohh I like this idea as long as it isn’t a crossover for soccer moms!
Put on a full face helmet and use your peripheral vision. Then sit in a race seat while wearing a HANS and try again. Miatas are not made of power so it is even more important to conserve speed once you get it. Also a spec Miata set up for the best lap times is pretty difficult to drive at the limit. Lastly where…
