Haha. If you really can't, a regular braid totally works as well! I just really recommend loosening it up as the instructions suggest to avoid the venus and serena look.

if you have really straight, fine hair, braids don't always hold very well. Adding texture, whether by curling or with product (my way is to braid my hair before i go to bed, then I wake up with waves), helps the braids "stick"

You may have to try it a couple times at first, especially if your braiding skills are out of practice, but I did it this morning in about 5 minutes flat.

I like this (that's the short hair version but the long one is linked in the post) because it hides my layers and keeps my bangs off my forehead.
