The system probably has a limited effective detection range. The distance covered in the time it takes the system to figure out it’s about to hit something, warn the driver than automatically brake is that distance. Beyond that distance, it may risk too many false positives.

I also drive an Outback. By definition, anything I do is uncool (per the cool kids in high school). Therefor my “uncool” overpowers your “cool”. Outbacks will never be cool again because they been tainted by my ownership.

Yes they can. Any double DIN unit will fit with the correct trim and wiring adapter kit. Mine hasn’t pissed me off enough to spend roughly $1k to replace it.

At least she has a working infotainment. I have a 2017 Outback and also and find that system lacking in almost every conceivable way. Now, the 2018 system, those things have a tendency to brick themselves.  Lots of forum threads about them and the 6+ week wait for a replacement.

I think felony is overkill for removing the sticker and returning it to service. Misdemeanor is good enough with the authority to impound if caught. Leave a provision to elevate it to a felony if the vehicle/driver is found at fault of any accident.

Wife and I both ordered packages shipped via USPS. Tracking showed they were expected to arrive on the same day. Hers got delivered, mine got “business closed, unable to deliver”. Tracking showed both delivery and attempted delivery happened within a minute of each other.

Quicker (including the trip to get the oil and filter) plus they don’t send some random service writer out to the waiting room with a dirty air filter and worn wiper blades (which may or may not be from your car) to tell you they need to be replaced.
